When Obama was twittering it was visionary and bold.

Some pimple faced basement dweller thought the UPS guy was cool with his tweeting hand held radio and had a moronic vision, make a website that tweets.

/brilliant, I tellz ya.

Twitter makes no real sense. I hate to think that politicians are twittering when they should be listening to debate or something. They'd be much better off doodling (new window). (new window)

Why should I care if Sen Boozman is eating breakfast with a constituent? What does Claire MccCaskill's twittering about her favorite basketball team have to do with her voting stances? Twitter is another mindless means for people to think they are so self-important that others want to read their every thought, hear about their every bowel movement and know what they think about the most trivial matters. I do not use twitter and have no plans to do so. Life is filled with enough tedium and pointlessness; why should I be exposed to everyone elses'? Note to 99% of the world: You are not that important and few care what you think. This also applies to every representative that is not from my state.

DWalk 2009-03-29 12:21:24 PM
FYI for those who do tweet ... they are probably lying

Brief way to update constituents on votes and their work in Congress. Were you trying to be funny with the breakfast thing? Twitter may be a stupid idea for you, but for them it's a way to keep in touch with the folks they're representing.

I don't understand the popularity of twitter. I mean, before twitter we had blogs. Essentially, these blogs let you record your thoughts in whatever length detail you wanted.

Now we have twitter, which is exactly the same as a blog, except that you have less functionality. Someone said "you know what the problem is with blogs? You can do too much with them!" It's like if someone made a car that can only go 25 miles an hour but costs the same as a normal car. I can't imagine that this would be the wave of the future, or even a temporary fad. It's just stupid.

Generation blink.

Because if a thought can't be completed in the time it takes to text a message, it's not a thought worth having.

They call it twitter for a reason, twits.

I have no problem with politicians Twittering, as long as they're doing so in a useful manner (an oxymoron, I know, but hear me out). Don't update me during nationally televised speeches or when you're supposed to be in session. Do you farking job, instead. I don't need to know what you're thinking during those times just because you think Twitter is all the rage & that your younger constituents think it's "cool".

A useful way to use Twitter: Ask us our opinion on an upcoming piece of legislation. Highlight SOME of your daily work so we can see how the salary we're paying for is being spent. Answer our questions (okay, so you only have 140 characters. You're a smart guy--figure it out).

Morons. Just like any other egotist who uses Twitter, and CSM for stooping so low as to include reporting on it as content.

Came to say you can't spell Twitter without twit

Mr Logo 2009-03-30 04:22:58 AM
I only know two types of people who use twitter - kids (fair enough) and adults in their 40s and 50s who are trying to be on the cutting edge (but never will be).
