Yep, I really tipped my hand on that one! Couldn't help it...that 'O' just reminded me of a 60's style radio station control room. First heard Wolfman Jack one hot summer evening in Chico, California way back when. It was love at first sound. Good times. :0)

TJ transmitter and it could be heard all the way up in Chico? That's one impressive border blaster, even for AM.

Actually XERB, XERF and many others were on steroids. They could be heard in Russia. Boarder stations were not restricted by U.S. FCC signal limitations. They could broadcast up to 1,000,000 watts and reach huge audiences. U.S. stations are limited to 50,000 watts, and most have considerably less power.

nor FCC ad restrictions. remember "B oyster concentrate" and what it was for? racy ad for it's time.

'Cause you're only 32, maybe? They were gone long before your time.
Do you remember
back in nineteen sixty-six?
Country Jesus, hillbilly blues,
that's where I learned my licks.
Oh, from coast to coast and line to line
in every county there,
I'm talkin' 'bout that outlaw X
that was cuttin' through the air.
Anywhere, y'all,
everywhere, y'all,
I heard it, I heard it,
I heard it on the X.
We can all thank Doctor B
who stepped across the line.
With lots of watts he took control,
the first one of its kind.
So listen to your radio
most each and every night
'cause if you don't I'm sure you won't
get to feeling right.
Anywhere, y'all,
everywhere, y'all,
I heard it, I heard it,
I heard it on the X.
