The idea that Fort Knox is a bullshiat op comes about every decade or so. Which is then followed up by a couple senators visiting, saying "I SEE GOLD. IT'S ALL GOOD". Ten years later the same thing happens.

Seriously, Fort Knox is a military installation, if they decided to shift the goods then SOMEONE would have noticed.

We have army units with tanks and helicopters guarding something worth less than what we gave to AIG?

I say we send them into the AIG offices and have them aim their weapons at the executive offices.

In other words, they want to be certain that the bullion has not been rendered as valueless as if a real-life Goldfinger had stolen it.

This sentence made me want to strangle the writer.

Fort Knox is for tourists. It's all under NYC.

I saw that in a movie once.

I see nothing wrong with verifying the state of our gold reserves. especially if it hasn't been done in several decades.

put this another way - would YOU trust a bank that hasn't opened their vaults in 40 years and counted how much money they've got in there?

So where do you think the gold that was there 40 years ago has been taken? And by whom?

RON PAUL knows all. We should count it just for the hell of it.

Meh, who cares. Just send someone down to count things, pat their pockets when they come out, and everyone is happy.

Yep. it'd kill the entire issue. Just do a count, verify it, and done.

Yeah, we should count it in case Bugs Bunny accidentally burrowed his way into the vault and stole all of it.

The issue will never go away.

No, I pretty much think it'll go away if we count it now. then we can easily go another 40 odd years without another count.

We can't wait another 40 years to do another count! It should be counted every day. End of discussion.

This is stupid even for Ron Paul. Why would they need to use the gold to help bail out these companies when they have trillions they can loan them in cash with?

Ron Paul is a conspiracy nut like many of his followers.

They've got soldiers all over the place with nothing to do. The could count it every day, for free. Why not?

So no.

Why should it go away? Why shouldn't the gold be counted every couple of years to verify that it's all still there?

If we aren't interested in being entirely sure that all the gold is there and we don't care to count it...

>_>

Then whats the point of even having the reserve...? and having it heavily guarded?

What about that rumor that Fort Knox is empty? Prove it isn't. EZ.

Do I smell a conspiracy? I cannot say because the article won't display.

Anyone care to post it here?

This kind of thinking is why America has been in a state of steady decline in the last fifty years or so. Just keep voting for the Democrat and Republican pretty boys. Things'll get better someday...

I've got a co-worker who thinks that all the gold in Fort Knox was bought by the Chinese and he knows that for a fact.

/I've got to find a place to work that has less idiots.

Space_Fetus 2009-03-29 01:49:10 PM
Yeah, why not count it? I mean, if they have nothing to hide it should be a no-brainer. There is no good reason NOT to count it.

All the gold in Fort Knox was moved to the World Trade Centers a year before they were 'attacked'. Why do you think they had to use so much thermite. It wasn't to bring down the towers, it was to make sure all that gold melted into an indistinguishable blobs so it could be removed and shipped to a secret bunker in Iraq. That is why we invaded Iraq.

/I read it on the internet!
//that was sarcasm for those to dense to get it.

The idea of a problem with the Fort Knox gold depository predates Ron Paul's attention whoring by quite a bit.

Gotta agree with this. I haven't seen him spouting that 9/11 was an inside job or that aliens have visited this planet or chemtrails or any other warrrghhbblll. He is saying the Federal Reserve Bank is a Ponzi scheme and needs to be audited and that Fort Knox needs to be audited.

It's this kind of backwards thinking of "making too much sense...must be a conspiracy nut." that allows those crooks to get away with robbing the American people blind.
