Social conservatives on the board, led by chairman Don McLeroy, have made clear they expect books to address those topics by raising questions about the validity of evolutionary theory.

The problem with these things is that it doesn't occur to sensible people that it's even an issue, so it's always been a scramble to fight that shiat off at times. Though I think now that the crazy fundies have made it clear they're gonna keep pushing, the vast majority that want the next generation to have cooler shiat than the older one are gonna start getting closer to full force. 8-7 is as close as this is gonna get for a while, it's as far as the creationists could push it with the full expenditure of their power, and they got slapped down by the rational response that wasn't even fully awake or paying attention at the time.
