FTA -

"Kate Moss appears on the track 'Dirty Robot', while actress Liv Tyler provides guest vocals on the Cohen song 'Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye'."

Subby fails at reading comprehension.

That's one sadass Townes Van Zandt song he picked. Course TVZ doesnt have a lot of bouncy uplifting ones i guess.

Say what you want about Evan Dando/Lemonheads, but he does a pretty good cover:

Mrs. Robinson, Different Drum, Luka, etc.

I love The Lemonheads but they suck live, one of the most disappointing live shows I've ever seen.
They do a really great cover of "Learning the Game" though.

Evan Dando has had his fair share of insanely hot women.

Ugh. Just what the world needs...another covers album.
And yes, they do suck live.

I like covers albums. They reveal a lot about the artist and sometimes provide a fresh perspective on old material.

THIS. The 90s gave us great rap and awesome grunge, but it felt like about 1995 onwards, all these covers albums and 'best of' albums kept coming out, which started to really suck after a while.

I always loved Evan Dando's cover of "Fade to Black". His version of "Skulls" is awesome too. The first time I heard it I laughed so hard I fell off my bed.

Either I saw an exceptional Lemonheads show in Portland a few years back, or I have exceptionally low standards. It wasn't the absolute best show ever, but I had a great time.

I had a few beers, too.

I know its the context of the post but no one has named a LH
song they like; when I want covers I go see a bar band or that midget KISS group...

Car Button Cloth was a fantastic album.
I like Dando, he's always liked to do covers from the first Lemonheads album on, he's a fan. It makes sense he would come out with something like this.

it's a shame about Kate

I hold the Mudhoney/Jimmie Dale Gilmore collaboration covering TVZ's "Buckskin Stallion Blues" in high esteem. It's not punk-tempoed, but it's not paced as a ballad, either. Were it linkable online, link it I would.

Same (Seattle) & Same.

I was a fan of the 'Shame about Ray' album long before the addition of Mrs. Robinson. Songs like Confetti, Rockin' Stroll, My Drug Buddy and most particularly Alison's Starting to Happen were staples of my mix tapes for years.

He also did a nice acoustic version of Knowing Me, Knowing You mid-show which ended up on an EP.

Funny, I thought they *were* a covers band that did crappy original material for filler.

As a Masshole, I am legally obligated to hate Evan Dando.

Dando is douchy in person, or at least when I met him he was.

The Lemonheads recorded a pretty entertaining cover of "Step By Step" from NKOTB years ago. Maybe circa 1989 or 1990.
