This job requires two things of a person.

Step 1. Sell pride and self respect on eBay
Step 2. Get job twittering for a celebrity.

It's just a ploy to be out there in the scene while you wait for your screenplay to be 'discovered.'

Every time I read the word "twitter", I get stabby.

Joaquin Phoenix's beard twitters for him. But that's because he has two owls and a hen, four larks and a wren that have all built their nests in it.

Twitter. Because we're ALL incredibly important and interesting.

I like what Shaq said:

"It's 140 characters. It's so few characters. If you need a ghostwriter for that, I feel sorry for you."

Euell Gibbons 2009-03-28 11:25:42 AM
I follow Andrew Zimmern. Hoping to catch him if he ever stops by locally.

Di Atribe [TotalFark] 2009-03-28 11:27:27 AM
The ones who have ghostwriters are obvious. Wil & Shaq & Lance Armstrong & Christopher Walken & John Mayer & Bad Astronomer all do their own. You can tooooooootally tell.

So yeah. Not exactly breaking news. And twitter is what you make it. You don't have to follow people who announce their bathroom breaks. But some people do manage to be entertaining in 140 characters or less. Not me, though. I like long, drawn out.... what's that word again....

Epiphany 2009-03-28 11:37:13 AM
Some celebrities, like Rosanne and Courtney Love, would do better by hiring ghostwriters to update their internet blogs.

This. And I can't tell if it's genuinely bad or just that I'm now of the age where I want damn kids off my lawn.

Chris Romero, who goes by the name of Broadway and is the director of 50 Cent's Web empire, admitted he has tweeted messages on the rapper's behalf.

"He doesn't actually use Twitter," Romero told The Times. "But the energy of it is all him."

I feel so disenchanted with twitter now

xtremdelt 2009-03-28 12:14:17 PM
Now, you too can be like 50 Cent. But without all the black stereotypes that come with it.

eBay

Is this the line where I tell everyone I don't own a TV or listen to some band you've never heard of?

Twits twitter.

4NSpy 2009-03-28 01:52:46 PM
I've been pro twitter for a while, following only people I know or interesting people, but I lost all hope for humanity when I did a search for replies that people were sending to P-diddy.

I'm glad there's a way to filter what content you receive, because there is way too much shiat out there.

/curious to see how they monitize.

Forty-Two [TotalFark] 2009-03-28 02:06:57 PM
With all the "Twitter" headlines that keep popping up, I'm wondering how long before there's a "South Park" episode devoted to it.

/Randy and Cartman would definitely have Twitter accounts.

Have you ever 'twatted'?

I assume they pay them in change rather than bills...

Twitter: It's what Americans do instead of making useful things or living actual lives.
