I think we need more proof than one line on some web page...maybe a press release, or some figures?

/Did you know that raccoons only chew food on one side of their mouth? It's true - because I said so.

I was thinking this too. Linked article is worthless. It just repeats headline.

So last Friday my sister in law brought her Wii over to our house and we were playing and damned if I didn't get addicted to it.

It's true. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Steve Tyler trying to cash a royalty check at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Wait, your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate said that Aerosmith was making more money from 7-11 Slurpee cup merchandising than from album sales.

I think this says less about the structured deal with Activision and ONE HELL OF A LOT FARKING MORE about the state of their deal with the recording industry.

I wonder if they calculated all there drug use in this amount.

I heard all of Aerosmith's song's are secretly written by an underwater, Romanian robot who lives in the Black Sea.

/this is true, btw

And to think that game has a replay value of poop...Unless you are a huge Aerosmith fan, this is by FAR the worst of all the music/band games...in my experience anyway (never played GH1 or GH80s or any of the portable games)...

GH80's is by far the worst game in the series. At least with Aerosmith there are unique venues and bonus material to unlock (not to mention the fact that Aerosmith owns). GH80's was just GH2 with a neon coat of paint and a much smaller (and MUCH shiattier) setlist with no bonus content at all.

Same goes for Dragonforce.

If this is true, there's a good reason for that: because Steven Tyler's voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard and everyone blows their eardrums out after one listen just so they don't have to hear that again. Therefore, no repeat buyers.

I've been reading about the music industry finances for longer than I care to admit and one thing is true:

No matter what kind of contract they have almost every group says they don't make any money from their records, from touring, from publishing, from anything they do.

And yet somehow the most well known groups are all rich.

I remember Billy Joel saying he lost money every time he went on tour.

All groups have said they don't make any more from selling their records, not matter how many are sold.

This is all bullshiat; I'm not saying that groups haven't been screwed by their companies but since the mid 70s group signing a contract without it being reviewed by their own lawyers has no one to blame but themselves.

mr0x: Guitar Hero, the Pacman of our generation.

a game that will always be fun and continue to be played for generations to come on every possible device?

for all those crying proof, I present two points

a) if you're an Aerosmith fan, you should be happy that even more people are gonna be hearing their music, a lot. If you're not...well, why do you care at all?

b) this has been reported on before and I was talking about this "fact" just a few days ago with my dad.

despite never ever having touched the game, my magical abilities (brain) tells me that there are more bands in the game than just Aerosmith, so that reason for whining is out the window, but I'm sure there's plenty more to find if you wanna waste time talkin about video machine guitar games devices on a beautiful friday night.

*entering the house to comment on Fark after being outside in California all day may increase aggitation when dealing with people that talk about things they don't like*

Well that seals it for me. Subby is right, it is fact and gospel.

According to the video game/geek section of MTV's website, this "statistic" comes from Activision CEO Bobby Kotick, and hasn't been confirmed at all by Aerosmith's people yet.

Agreed, 100%. The Eighties version of the game blew.

I like Guitar Hero Aerosmith, but to be fair I only paid twenty bucks after finding it on a Target clearance rack.

The game actually made me more of a fan of Aerosmith's stuff - a lot of the included tracks were from their first few albums, which (with the exceptions of Sweet Emotion and Dream On) I hadn't heard before. Before the sobering up and the 1980s rebirth, they weren't bad.

/saw the game at Target again last night
//ten bucks this time

I got mine at Walmart. Had it and Guitar Hero II for 30 bucks for both.

It made me more of a fan of the band as well. Most leads dont translate well, but Joe Perry's leads on the game feel most natural of any I have played. It also showed how basic his work is. I like it tho.
