Poor Fred. No matter what, he was always Herman Munster to me.

And seriously, who the hell has been clamoring for a Spandau Ballet reunion?

Hey, cut Spandau Ballet some slack.

For some of us, this song was the accompanying soundtrack to our first (dance/kiss/boobie feel).

No kidding. First semester of undergrad. I got more strange that year than in the rest of my subsequent life. Probably due to the fact that I met Mrs. Love Zombie the next year. And the fact that at least at that moment I was a trim, tan, 80s feathered hair, cunnilingual studlet. Everything went downhill from that year. Pretty obvious why I still hold that song in such high esteem.

Great story.

I'm a bit younger, so "True" was a Jr. High mating call of sorts. The lyrics might as well include: "cop a quick feel on the dancefloor while the vice principal isn't looking..."

...well, I wouldn't say clamoring, but they've done more than "True." Hopefully they'll record a new album while they're at it.

I bet they got their ballet tights.

To cut a long story short, I lost my mind when I read about this reunion.

Ergo, I can't give one about this reunion.

I was given a copy of "Gold: The Best of Spandau Ballet" by my uncle; sure, it's a greatest hits, but it made me download seek out their whole catalogue. Chant No. 1 is my favorite song of theirs.

I feel bad for seeing that and instantly hearing Be Near Me in my head and thinking, "Ha! That's not Spandau Ballet, that's ABC!"

Years back when 'True' was a hit the lead speaker was interviewed and asked about the accusation that the band had 'sold out'.

The guy said 'Sold out? We've been trying to BUY IN!'

So fark Johnny Cougar.

One of the best 80's pop groups evar. Loved them as New Romantics and afterward.

Tony Hadley is still an amazing singer.

That song just reminds me of when I first heard of AIDS. My old man subscribed to medical journals and what I read scared me enough to actually turn down sex.

/But I still looked cool with my "before-they-called-it-a-Mullet-mullet"

I'd give a kidney to see this happen. 'Orange Appled' live would be bliss.

The English Major: Chant No. 1 is my favorite song of theirs.

Yes. Their sellout was great for them, but their music was complete crap once they got a hold of the wedge. Bastards.

Zombie Hitler: Gold is a farking outstanding song.

I've many a fine memory of listening to that song speeding around Vice City plowing through pedestrians and shooting police officers. Good times. Sure do miss the 80's.
