It makes it easier for us to spot the douchebags. No longer do you have to engage in conversation to find the douchebaggery--you see someone in Ed Hardy or Affliction and bingo! You've found a douchebag!

I'm not sure I'd call being plucked out of your native country and thrust into the limelight a "chance." Not to mention knowing this was done to make "mommy" look good in the press.
