I understand more and more why I rarely go to the movies.

I don't think "thriller" is the word I would use to describe Knowing. The trailers nearly put me to sleep.

So you saw it? Was it that bad? (The movie-- not just his hair.)

That's not his hair.

Intresting... With Nick Cage - Lov 'im or Hate 'im.

Can't people just judge the movie by it's merit?!

Unfortunately I just saw "Knowing"... It sucked bad enough to make me want to beat the crap out of Cage with a rubber garden hose! I will save all of you 12 bucks.. (doing my part to help out during a recession and all...)

Everyone dies in the end..

thanks, Captain Obvious, but if you haven't noticed, that's what people have been doing; a lot of movie fans considered Cage an interesting actor who early in his career played challenging roles very well; and for the last decade-plus, he has played in nothing but dull action films.

Bangkok Dangerous, Next, Ghost Rider...and now Knowing

/Yup! That was the only redeeming part of the whole movie... it is a shame it didn't happen in the first 5 minutes....

Funbags 2009-03-22 06:16:51 PM
Let's see, the Cage flick beat out a romantic comedy featuring unknown white men, and a PG-13 "thriller" featuring the actress whose last relevant film was almost a decade ago.

Having the biggest box office take this weekend would be easier than beating a special olympian at bowling.

I too disliked the "Big Blue Penis" movie; great concept, piss-poor execution and story flow. However my friends who've read the book say there was almost no way to do justice to the story and still make a coherent movie.

Here's how to watch "Knowing"

Rent "Signs". Imagine the kids getting taken by the aliens to another planet to rebuild humanity, then imagine everyone else on the Earth dying by solar flare.

/Everyone on the Earth dying by a massive solar flare was happy enough of an ending for me.. the bullshiat with the kids at the end was unnecessary and typical Hollywood crap!

Gawd, Nicolas Cage sucks ass! He is one of the worst actors and people still pay to see him.

/why?

Freak 2009-03-22 06:23:44 PM
And thus I lose a little more faith in humanity. There was a point in time when I didn't hate Nicholas Cage. Now the mere sight of him fills me with rage. I wish I could sharpen the edge of a "Bangkok Dangerous" dvd and slice him repeatedly with it. Then pour lemon juice all over him. Then beat him to death with the DVD cover from Ghost Rider.

mantabulous 2009-03-22 06:24:40 PM
There's an unwritten law of the universe that Nicolas Cage movies decrease logarithmically in quality as time progresses.

/Watched "Next" last night
//Was appalled

He's better than Keanu Reeves, at least.
