My college has those adds a lot (we are a "little ivy" not a full fledged one). It requires that I was between the ages of 18-22 I think with high SAT scores and taller than 5'6". I qualified at the time, but I would never had done it. Not worth the chance that I can't have kids of my own some day... or the pain. I no longer can since I'm 23 anyway though.

Dancers are independent contractors, paying clubs a nightly flat fee depending on how long they work. At the Pink Monkey, for example, dancers who arrive at 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday pay a $40 "house fee," while women who don't arrive until midnight pay $90. And they keep their tips.

Yes, that means strippers pay the strip joint to dance, an example would be a dude who sets up computer networks and he would pay the the management office of that place a fee to provide his service. The closest I could come to a "house fee" scenario in corporate America would be an internship or a voluntary position.
