I'm going to work up some faux outrage on the National Post for publishing a column from a criminal, although it's not all faux - I actually am slightly irritated by it. A criminal who gave up his Canadian citizenship, is serving time in an American jail and using his column to defend Americans far to the right of anyone in this country, attacking Canadians for being too provincial. When was the last time Conrad was even permitted to visit the country where he, by his own choice, is a foreigner? What perspectives of value can he share from his jail cell? And why is this in a Canadian newspaper again?

I was watching an old episode of Politically Incorrect on youtube the other day and it was fascinating to see Coulter interact with the other panelists (Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Lennox Lewis). She laughed at all their jokes (even when Rock was saying funny and outlandish things about race) and was conservative but still rather pleasant. Didn't seem to take herself all that seriously. By contrast, Laura Ingraham was and is an insufferable woman.

It's all an act. She realized where the money was and adapted accordingly.

It's also funny to see where Maher was politically 10 years ago as opposed to now. The Bush years basically destroyed his "they're all the same" act.

She is willing and knowing tool, I suspect. She is bright enough to realize exactly the response that she'll get, and she is certainly bright enough to realize that she will be paid handsomely for her role. What I am unsure is, if she is bright enough to realize the damage that playing this role actually has had on her, and at which point she gave up any semblance of being able to express an opinion of her own.

It is getting more and more shrill as of late--as she ages, as the role has changed over the years, and now, it looks like the money might dry up, it is getting increasingly hard to keep up the appearances and the rhetoric as she has to keep spinning the cognitive dissonance. That is the thing that I think that makes her an almost tragic figure, is that she is bright enough to realize when she is fully off the reservation where ideas are concerned, but she has to keep at it, because that's what she's paid for.

Canada revoked his citizenship but it didn't work. He keeps acting like he has some relevance here. As far as I know he has none whatsoever and I thought we got rid of him. I owe a swift kick in an uncomfortable place to whoever at the National Post gave in to his/Barbara Amiel's begging to give him some work while he was in jail.

I'm not quite sure how Coulter's incessant partying and one-night-stands, combined with a serious drinking problem aligns with her professed "Christian" faith. Why does she not get married, instead of shacking up with numerous guys? Isn't sex out of wedlock considered a sin?

Since she continues to engage in this behavior, she is unrepentant. And if you are unrepentant, then you are not a practicing Christian.
