Nice. Why wouldn't she take federal to help her daughter's kid?

In today's statement though, Palin is quoted saying: "I have to certify every dollar we apply for will legitimately create new jobs and stimulate the economy. I can't certify that fact until the Legislature is comfortable with what the education's fiscal landscape will look like if we apply for the funds."

What the hell are you trying to say, Sarah? Please explain "education's fiscal landscape" to the rest of us.

It's always interesting to see what yesterday provided for right wingnutty comments - because without perspective, we wouldn't truly appreciate how crazy these people actually are.

WHARRGARBL Sr: WHARRGARBL Jr: Like, maybe, it is time to look at more relevant politicians for your amusement, rather than keeping on Palinpalooza'ing around this horse that was already beaten to well beyond death before the election.

They won't leave her alone. She's a threat.

Ever notice nobody calls Dick Cheney stupid? The democrat party speechmakers treat you entirely different if you're a conservative but have the decency to stay on your side of the old-boring-white-male fence. If you're a guy, you're straight, married, white, born before Pearl Harbor got bombed, they'll just call you a living embodiment of evil and call it a day...leave all those dimbulb-stupid-klutz jokes filed away (unless your name is Gerald Ford).

But be born during or after WWII...or be black like Clarence Thomas or Alan Keyes, or female and good-looking like Sarah Palin or Condi Rice, or gay like the Log Cabins, or stray off the plantation in any other way...and out come the talking points. You're dim, you're dumb, you're stupid, you're reckless. While Jimmy Carter says "nukular" as often as he likes, and Obama mixes up his teleprompters and ends up thanking himself.

Palin isn't even asking for the publicity here. It's the democrat party trying to think up talking points against her, because she can't really be counted out of the game like their "polls" keep saying she can. If it was true they would have gotten busy ignoring her a long time ago.

Fact is, four years of Obama are going to make her look even more desirable. In a lot of ways. And they know it. They're terrified.

Speaking only for myself, I am terrified, terrified that this country will somehow elect a person wholly unqualified as president and finish the job the last moron started. And what terrifies me the most out of everything I can think of is that there are people, like this, who actually believe that Sarah Palin is the perfect candidate and that Americans need her as their leader.

God save us, if He doesn't nobody else is likely to.

Mr. Coffee Nerves [TotalFark] 2009-03-21 07:28:48 AM
I was wondering how long it would take her to realize that 2010 comes before 2012.

I think you're onto something... maybe someone should get her a teleprompter.

I think it's hilarious that people give Democrats a pass around here for "adjusting their opinions" or "listening to others' ideas" or whatever crap people make up, but when it's Palin, she's "backpedaling like a clown on a circus unicycle."

I'd like to see a Republican actually turn down free tax money, just to see if it's possible. It's like crack cocaine to them.

Alphax 2009-03-21 07:54:45 AM
I think all the governors who are attempting to turn down stimulus money are also the ones who think they can win the GOP Primary in 2012.

There is a distinct difference.

Governor Palin came out yesterday, effectively drawing a line in the sand, stating that she would not accept a large portion of this money and that it would be up to the state legislature to override her wishes. I can respect someone that feels a need to make a fundamental statement as to their beliefs. Today, after hearing from all corners of the state that she made a bad decision, she reverses her core, fundamental beliefs.

This isn't "adjusting their opinions" or "listening to others' ideas" this is the equivalent of Governor Palin coming out and endorsing abortion, banning of all new drilling in Alaska and stating that Real Americans(TM) don't like Rush Limbaugh.

I believe Groucho Marx has Ms. Palin in mind when he said, "These are my principles. And if you don't like them, I have others."

It isn't hilarious, and it isn't just democrats that do it. The republicans sometimes lie about the original position simply so that they can deride someone for changing it.

Yes, Palin is dangerous and a poor choice for leader, but I give her credit for backing down from her stupid position to one that is more reasonable.

I also give Obama credit for backing down from the private insurance for vets thing.

If you are going to have ideas, some of them are going to be stupid.

There is a difference.

Sarah Palin claims to have "Conservative Core Values" which apparently means "values that are as flexible as they are make believe".

This is a problem for me.

I respect anyone that can change their mind, in fact, I see that as an indication of intelligence and acceptance that there may be better solutions than what they had previously believed.

Conversely, I did not see Mitt Romney's change of heart on same sex marriages and abortion as being "enlightened" but rather as someone that has no core values and would say anything to pander to the base.

Considering that "Al Qaeda" translates into "the base", I believe we should all be extremely wary of these people, baseless bastard that I am.

Yeah, OK. I'm OK if the occasional stupid idea makes it to the public, as long as we don't pursue it too far. One did, it was dropped.
