I'm a fan. I was really surprised to hear this because those two were traditionally close.

JC's drumming was always the glue that kept the SP's together and made them at all interesting. Without his jazz-influenced chops, SP's are just another mediocre band.

Seriously, Jimmy Chamberlain was the best thing about the Pumpkins. Truly kick ass drummers are hard to find. Self-absorbed douchebags who excel at mediocrity are a dime a dozen.

After, every kid, jock and cheerleader in school had the t-shirt with the SP-heart logo and were playing that song in their car.

See I find that interesting because every time I try to find Iha in the mix I later found out Corgan did the part. The only part I know that I can attribute to Iha is that weird ass solo in Zero.

Billy is pretty good with the guitar, and as people have already said.. the pumpkins were pretty much Corgan and Chamberlin. Billy recorded, usually after Iha and D'arcy already had, most of the bass and guitar on the albums.

Iha did some cool stuff, The Aeroplane flies high set has a bunch of it, it is very cool but it is understandable why it was cut. It just never fit with most of the other stuff on the albums. Ihas solo album was good, never got through the whole thing though.

Saw them for the first time last November in DC, amazing show and Jimmy and Billy both showed off their skill for their instruments. Both of them seemed to be having a lot of fun and making jokes the whole time together, I didn't sense any tension. They also brought on stage a girl who they called James Iha and made fun of Iha after the set, good stuff.
