I'm seriously pro-Obama, marginally Dem, somewhat liberal and proud of it. And let me say: This is unfortunate, and I'd say the same thing if Bush had said it. Oh, yes, perhaps a little more irritated, but I thought Bush sucked to begin with, so that would have contributed, sure.

Meanwhile, with the wife working on basically that "industry", I've learned a greater appreciation for sensitivity than I'd already had... I no longer, for example, use "retard" as an insult.

It's sort of like waking up one day and realizing that calling people "gay" just isn't helpful, and changing one's ways on that point.

Some may disparage it as being PC, but you know what? It's called respect. DO U SPAEK IT? What does it hurt to find other phrases to lightly throw away (like "moran", which is not offensive, even though previous definitions overlapped with similar situations in the past).
