That's awesome. From Maverick to right-wing ball sucker.

EL_FABREZ: That's awesome. From Maverick to right-wing ball sucker.

He never really was a maverick-he'd do exactly what he wanted to do and just preface it with the phrase "I know they aren't going to like this, but..."
Entirely self-serving his whole political career-yet claimed not to be.

I am SO thankful that this piece of shiat did not become POTUS.

There's a lot of biatching and moaning about political differences between TFers and parents. I can't see situations like that as very different.

BobtheFascist 2009-03-18 07:30:46 PM
Stephanopoulos asked McCain, "What do you think of Meghan's feud with Coulter and Ingraham?" McCain first said, "I'm proud of my daughter and she has a right to her opinions." When asked if he agrees with his daughter, McCain did not say, simply stating, "like any family we agree on some things and disagree on others."

Which is code for "STFU & move on the the next topic. My family matters are NOYB."

John McCain refuses to enter the controversy over his daughter's butt size? Shocking.

You would defend him throwing his daughter to the wolves for having the audacity of having a different opinion.

You think McCain should support her daughter for telling someone to kiss her fat ass on national television? What the hell is wrong with you people?

brap [TotalFark] 2009-03-18 08:26:35 PM
All I can say is after my years on Fark - and I say this with no malice intended- if I had a daughter; I would pray to every deity known to man that she becomes a full-on arse-kicking unrepentant carpet-munching power bulldyke.

Also, hopefully, she would be better with not spewing run-on sentences.

angryjd: You think McCain should support her daughter for telling someone to kiss her fat ass on national television?

Given the circumstances? Yes. He should've been tearing the person who started this mess a new asshole last week. Just on the general principle that someone went after his daughter for speaking her mind.

The thing is, she makes sense. There are a lot of people that think she (and her views) are the future of the Republican party. Not sure whether I like that (might give me a reason to even consider voting GOP) or hate it (because the GOP is so farked up that the Dems will be in power forever if the GOP keeps going the way it is).

/And she is HAWT.

rppp01a 2009-03-18 09:08:04 PM
She is like her mom, and he doesn't like it. Her mom has a large independent streak that is shut down by her husband. Too bad.

"Twitterview?" Give me a farking break.

I've recently heard about these newfangled devices called "telephones" (I think I've spelled that correctly) that enable two people to have a vocal conversation while not being in the same room.

I honestly wonder how much longer a "Twitterview" takes than a normal, voice interview, strictly because these old folks want to seem cool.

/Point somewhat stolen from a Joe Rogan stand-up bit.

I think I could go the rest of my life without hearing the word "maverick" one more time. Listening to Palin say it every frickin' five seconds made me want to hurl my shoe at the TV.

ProdigalSigh 2009-03-18 09:13:45 PM
Actually, from reading what McCain wrote, it reads to me more like he didn't know a thing about it and didn't want to come down on the wrong side of his daughter.

Kinda this, only with more "I'm not dignifying the attack on her personal appearance by even nodding at it". This was the classy route.

How anyone can take Coulter and Inghram seriously is beyond me.
"Yea, well, here's where I disagree with you"
"WHAT'S THAT, FATTY?"

Classic Ad Hominem. Why anyone gives airtime to such worthless gasbags is just beyond my understanding.

/and I used to think I was fairly understanding

You're implying John McCain has a history of being classy.

jjorsett 2009-03-18 09:19:07 PM
McCain declines to say whether he agrees with what his daughter said and that's some sort of betrayal? Whenever McCain says something is she supposed to agree with it too or she's a traitor?

missiv 2009-03-18 09:19:32 PM
I recall him defending his VP choice pretty quickly. Nobody could talk badly about his pitbull wearing lipstick. His daughter must be naughty...hot, dirty, naughty.

So what you're really saying is that the reporters are a bunch of rabid wolves looking to attack anyone connected to a political figure, and that without the assistance of said political figure, the victim is incapable of fending for themselves?

It's only acceptable when it's grandmothers and pastors.

The first young, fresh, Conservative I've liked in a while, getting attacked by her own club? Sounds about par for the course for those slack jawed degenerates...

Trajan's Call'Em [TotalFark] 2009-03-18 09:27:27 PM
And another thing, why is McCain still getting this kind of media attention? He lost. No other losing candidate has had this kind of hold on the media after the election even if they still held a Senate seat, at least in my memory. I mean, Kerry I can understand not getting this kind of treatment, but come on. HE LOST!

Green Scorpio 2009-03-18 09:42:30 PM
So, like most Farkers, he manages to spread his hate around and attack both sides of an argument because the enemy of my enemy is my enemy.

Forget that McCain is able to allow his daughter to stand on her own: "I'm proud of my daughter and she has a right to her opinions." Plus she's hot.

Then Amato uses pure conjecture to imply that McCain thinks his daughter "asked for it", while at the same time stating that Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham are "perfect Barbies"?

Those two are far from perfect. The opposite in fact. This guy is a douchebag; and that means something coming from me. I don't namecall much.

0rion 2009-03-18 09:44:12 PM
Over the past month I have totally developed a huge crush on Meghan. Not just because she's curvy, cute, and fist/angry/god/etc; but she comes off as tough, free spirited, and down-to-Earth.

That doesn't mean she won't drop the ball someday and go apeshiat neocon for one reason or another, but for now... gatdamn hittable.
