Came in here to say No, no he isn't.

I don't see Obama using a teleprompter any more than any other president has in recent years. This limp meme is just residue from Karl Rove's "criticize their strengths, not their weaknesses" strategy: "Oh, so Obama's a gifted orator, capable of speaking in connected sentences and using words properly, eh? Well, we'll just see about that, Teleprompter Man!"

No one's buying this one, either, Neocons. Toss it on the pile with Secret Muslim, Not Born in America, Communist, Socialist and all the other brilliant ideas cooked up by the Rush-Hannity Braintrust.

Of course there are, the problem is that when you are throwing so much garbage that isn't true along with a few turds that are true they get lost in the mess. When 9 out of 10 things are such BS, you just stop listening.

I think the more salient point is that he bungled his first real foreign relations meeting so badly that the UK press, which had idolized him during the election, has now turned completely against him.

Yeah Obama was so bad during the debates, McCain nearly had to suspend his campaign after the first debate so he wouldn't have do another. Troll on with your bad self.

This teleprompter thing is pretty stupid, the UK and Russia gaffes will blow over quickly if they haven't already, and the Ireland PM thing is just a finny little thing. Obama still hasn't tried to give a foreign leader a neckrub like W, or barfed on one like Poppy.

That said, soy_bomb's stupid photo gave me an idea that I find vastly amusing. Liberal or not, I'm still a giant nerd.

Yeah. Anybody have that video that puts debate statements next to each other. Surprise! McCain's and Obama's statements were the same each time. Sometimes word for word.

There's no tolerance for free thought. Every statement is taken as gospel and policy that the candidate will follow unerringly. Every misstep and mistake is fodder for hours of negative coverage and ammunition for opponents.

So no, you won't get the kind of back and forth you'd find in your pub on a Wednesday night.

And the response from Obama's supporters is "nucular".

Use of a teleprompter makes it look like someone behind the scenes is controlling every word he utters. It looked especially bad at the press conference; the questions were submitted ahead of time, he had the list of bloggers reporters to call on, and he still didn't know the answers?

It's a regional pronunciation of the word. I pronounce it the same way. When you attempt to mock people for not talking the exact same way you do, you come off as naive. Probably should stop doing that.
