HowlingFrog: I think that the rest of us also deserve his silence.

At least until he's under oath.

Angry Drunk Bureaucrat [TotalFark] 2009-03-17 08:14:48 PM
Somebody want to tell that to his former VP?

WTFDYW [TotalFark] 2009-03-17 08:15:17 PM
He's resting. He'll let Obama run his whore mouth until he sticks his foot in it, (like W did), and then start needling, like Bubba did. It all goes in a full circle kids.

Mordant [TotalFark] 2009-03-17 08:15:58 PM
It's funny. In some ways he's actually vastly superior to the living trash that supported him.

WTFDYW [TotalFark] 2009-03-17 08:16:42 PM
Change. I don't think that means what you think it does.

Hey! Did I ever tell you about that time I heard a midget in a crowded elevator complaining about the smell?

HowlingFrog [TotalFark] 2009-03-17 08:20:32 PM
Kyosuke: At least until he's under oath.

He won't testify under oath, and he won't testify without Unca Dick there holding his hand so they can keep their lies straight. And he won't allow any recording of the testimony; no transcripts, nothing.
That was the deal with the 9/11 Commission.

daychilde [TotalFark] 2009-03-17 08:21:15 PM
Bush said he wants Obama to succeed and said it's important that he has that support.

THIS JUST IN: BUSH SMARTER THAN RUSH

He's sure inspired "hope" though. Look at you on the edge of your chair assuring us that nothing is going to be different (and hoping you're right).

So that's your rebuttal to what I said ? You stand by your statements as pure fact and not speculation ?

Congratulate yourself some more, someone has to do it.

Lionel Mandrake [TotalFark] 2009-03-17 09:24:07 PM
Wow...what is this odd feeling? Bush doing something admirable? He is free from Cheney - who continues to be a total Dick - and can express his natural attitude of "I'm a powerful rich dude...so, like...whatever!"

Now W's just a uber-rich frat boy free to stuff his wallet. Cheney seems genuinely concerned to mold his place in history before his heart explodes. Unwittingly, Bush will no doubt improve his standing by his nonchalance. Cheney's digging his grave deeper.

Few Presidents in modern history have been given such just cause.

Mordant: So that's your rebuttal to what I said ?

Dude, you put ironic quotes around the word "hope", like people actually having optimism that their government is foolish, elitist and naive. That's something said only by assholes who can't articulate an argument against Obama, which is why he didn't bother acknowledging you.

Guess what, those of you who think the US is beyond optimism: Go fark yourself. Just because your party is out of ideas doesn't mean we have to follow you over the ledge.

Perhaps. Or perhaps: I won't talk trash about you, you don't go after me.

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2009-03-17 11:12:19 PM
Hey, Bush did something respectable. Pity he couldn't have done something like that while he was President.

FlashHarry [TotalFark] 2009-03-17 11:48:20 PM
it's not respect. even bush is smart enough to understand that he left office with one of the lowest approval ratings in modern memory. any criticism he could mete out would be completely risible.

kyoryu [TotalFark] 2009-03-18 12:57:48 AM
GAT_00: Hey, Bush did something respectable. Pity he couldn't have done something like that while he was President.

What, like waiting to fire Rumsfeld until after the 2006 elections, to make it very obvious that it wasn't just a political move to gain votes?

T.M.S. [TotalFark] 2009-03-18 12:57:50 AM
Bush has the rest of his life to pretend he is above taking any responsibilty for the disaster he created while holding office.

He is never wrong. You know that because he told you so.

Over and over again.

FTA: Bush said that he doesn't know what he will do in the long term but that he will write a book that will ask people to consider what they would do if they had to protect the United States as president.

I love it. "w-w-well what would YOU do?" I wouldn't invade a country that had nothing to do with attacking us for starters there, georgie!

kasmel 2009-03-18 01:04:27 AM
Can't say that I'm a fan of the guy, but this is demonstrative of genuine cognition. Whether it's a political move in that he's cognizant of the real impact of his words, or an actual demonstration of class and respect, I give him props.

/Easily in the top 10 worst POTUS ever
//we'll see how he does in the post season

Well...not really. But aside from that, Bush took a swipe at Clinton going into the White House. Remember that "restoring honor and dignity" line?

Whoa, whoa, whoa.
You're asking a Bushkin to recall something that ACTUALLY happened, as opposed to parroting the revised history taught at the Church of Fox News. You libtards always expect too much.

"I love my country a lot more than I love politics," Bush said. "I think it is essential that he be helped in office."

We all would have been better off if he just said that back in November of 2000 and conceded.

That miserable old coont doesn't give a shiat. He's gonna check out any day and he wants to leave his steaming pile on the doorstep of America.

No, they just called everyone who disagreed with them unAmerican traitors.

I'm proud of my Calgary compatriots who threw shoes (and flip flops) at America's former President today. War criminals should not be welcomed to Canada, even if they are the former leaders of a close ally of Canada's. The respect we extend to our allies' leaders and former leaders should not include senior members of the Bush White House.

Under Bush's administration Canadian citizens, as well as many other countries' citizens, were rendered by America to be tortured in third countries and were imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay, including a Canadian who was just 15 years old at the time of his capture. The detention conditions, torture, lack of legal status, and rendition to third countries to be tortured violates both American and international law. Further, as America's ally, we have spent billions of dollars and have suffered many casualties in an 8-year long battle in Afghanistan that spiraled out of control while Bush focused on Iraq, had no strategy or end in sight, and instead of ameliorating security in the region and making us safer, further destabilized South Asia and has led to an explosion in the illegal trade in heroin.

I hope Bush does not return to Canada, unless there is an arrest warrant issued under our laws of universal jurisdiction for war crimes prior to his arrival.

stiletto_the_wise 2009-03-18 01:24:14 AM
"I'm going to put people in my place, so when the history of this administration is written at least there's an authoritarian voice saying exactly what happened," Bush said.

Yes, he actually said that. Freudian slip, I suppose...

Comedy gold anyway.

Agree or disagree with their tenure as presidents, Republican presidents don't go around bashing the decisions of the person in the White House like the Democrat presidents do.

Horsesh*t. Clinton is an egomaniac, that's why he's always running his mouth. Bush is actually showing some class here, and it's surprinsing most people. Those who hate him, anyway.

He is still an EPIC FAIL even out of the White House.
