The other day, I stumbled across an article (new window) about an American who was critically injured by Israeli soldiers as they were invading a Palestinian settlement. An Israeli soldier shot him in the face with a gas grenade, exposing gray matter.

The next day, I went out to get my newspaper and found an additional item. It was a magazine from El Al advertising trips to Israel. I tore it in half and threw it out, and thought about how some may take my feelings toward Israel at that moment as having been anti-semitic. Of course, I have no ill will toward Judaism, nor do I have a problem with Jewish people. I am opposed to the government of Israel, however. It will be a cold day in hell before I go there.

From a military perspective the "BIGGER rock" policy has been very effective for Israel, and if they stick with it they will win. That appears to be the course Netanyahu intends to pursue, and Lieberman is just necessary baggage.

I was comparing Israel's collapse to the collapse of those other fundamentally flawed states-- not the CIA's predictions, or lack thereof.

There are some interesting arguments to support the guess that Israel as we know it simply cannot last. The biggest one being demographics.

Israel's only real hope for survival is to go "Old Testament" on just about every non-jew in its borders, Gaza, and the West Bank.

While much of the stuff Israelis do to the Palestinians do is horrific, I simply don't see Israel bringing herself to do the sort of things Hitler did-- even if it means national survival.

In the end, they'll be another diaspora because, let's face it, when the Palestinians take back over they're not going to have ANY of those moral reservations holding them back from mass murder.

The U.S. will receive many of the displaced Israelis-- a good thing for America, despite the upcoming generations of Zionist whining we'll have to put up with.
