I'd put straight edgers and christian "rock" or "metal" acts on even ground, just because there's such an overlap in the scenes.

Straight edgers have great musical tastes, but can be just as preachy and morally superior as Christians. Depends on the person. I have known some cool sXe dudes, but never a cool Christian rock dude.

I hate them both equally. I've calmed down a bit from highschool. I don't listen to as much punk as I used to, ska is where i am. Less angry than punk, but no gay whiny lyrics of emo music, and no screaming, actual singing. We also know when to fight and when not to, unlike my punk friends where I've had to get bonds for two of them 3 times.

I would say after that the punks, the skins(not the racist bastard skins the old school skins), and the true hardcore kids (people who know good hardcore bands Sick of it All, etc.) and we mop up the stragglers. Not really worth the struggle to attack the straight edge kids before they finish off the emo kids. And with that thrift shop shirt, I shop at thrift shops mainly cause I'm broke and the only things my parents are providing me is a house and food.

When you have to worry on a daily basis about catching a stray bullet whenever Los Zetas decide to turn the streets into a shooting gallery, maybe you actually have a reason to be a wee bit emo.

Not to dampen the emo-bashing but they're not just getting picked on, they're getting killed. I find emos as obnoxious as the next guy but I do believe they have the right to be emo if they want, and they certainly don't deserve to die for it.

I got dragged to an emo show tonight (best buddy's girlfriend's little sister's boyfriend's band), so I'm getting a kick out of this.

Seriously, fark the emo kids. They're all so... similar. Mom and Dad love them, hold their hands in Hot Topic while they put this week's fashionable brightly colored clothing on their credit card. It's funny, these kids know nothing about actual want. They just think it's cool to get Daddy to finance them a sweet guitar / camera (every emo has to be a musician or a photographer). They'll grow out of it. You don't see many 25 year old emos.

/Straight Edge is a different topic. Those kids are just assholes. They mostly turn 21 and say fark it anyhow.
