"When Miley grows up, she'll learn not to have a sense of entitlement."

I think you mean "if", not "when". Way to stay positive though, guys.

robmilmel [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 03:30:36 PM
Sorry Miley, you're getting too old for the little girls, teenyboppers, and pedos; you have no real talent, so if you want a future career you'd better get used to "moneyshots".

TheYeti [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 03:50:19 PM
Miley, as some, like, totally old dudes once said, "You can't always get what you want."

BigSnatch [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 03:59:35 PM
Jeez, does she need to really get all achy-breaky over this.

Nabb1 [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 04:18:46 PM
It sounds as though they all acted like your average sixteen-year-old girl.

I like Radiohead a lot but I'll be the first to admit they seem a bit full of themselves.

Kliffoth [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 04:19:03 PM
Self-entitled biatches like this should be dropped off in a third world nation to fend for herself for a couple months. Maybe afterward she won't feel so special...if she's still alive.

GreenAdder [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 04:33:34 PM
"I'm gonna ruin them. I'm gonna tell everyone."

Really? Because from where I'm standing, it looks like Radiohead finally did something I actually like.

t3knomanser 2009-03-15 04:40:58 PM
Nabb1: I like Radiohead a lot but I'll be the first to admit they seem a bit full of themselves.

I don't really care for Radiohead, and they definitely are full of themselves, but I'm squarely on their side on this one. Doesn't matter who you are, you don't have the right to see an artist backstage. That's always their call.

fuzzwell [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 04:42:31 PM
I actually hope she does NOT listen to Radiohead.

That may be, but being a fan doesn't entitle you to anything personal from the artist. If it did, I spent enough time and money on Zappa that I should be entitled to move into Gail's spare bedroom.

BigEd [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 04:46:24 PM
They're the ones who'll spit at you
You'll be the one screaming out

Don't leave me high,
Don't leave me dry.

Wow.. It seems they wrote that just for you, Miley.

fuzzwell: I actually hope she does NOT listen to Radiohead.

Me too. There's something to be said of your credibility if your band is kicking it with someone from the Disney Channel.

bogey [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 04:52:49 PM
At first glance I read that as Motorhead and images of her trying to threaten Lemmy briefly danced through my head. It was a thing of beauty.

Aurelian [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 04:55:59 PM
Um, old? How is this green? Didn't this happen like a week ago, and wasn't Radiohead's response to this nonsense green yesterday?

CtrlAltDelete [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 05:08:54 PM
It's amazing how she doesn't understand how she could possibly be wrong.

Baggins [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 05:12:49 PM
LOL, good luck with that there Miley.
I know, why don't you post some nude pics of yourself on the internet with the words "Radiohead Sucks" written all over your body, that'll teach them.....and uh, don't forget to post a link to fark so everyone knows about it.

you can't ruin something that sucks as bad as radiohead.

Wow, she sounds like a totally uncool crybaby. You gonna cry some more, crybaby? C'mon, guys, let's get away from this giant loser crybaby.

Gunny Highway 2009-03-15 05:27:27 PM
They could have said hello. She could have not asked.

Nebulious [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 05:29:05 PM
Why? She going to sing for them or just date one of them?

Miley Cyrus's singing secrets here (new window)

I forgot that on Fark we're not supposed to like Radiohead. Or U2. Or Nine Inch Nails. Or.. actually, what are we allowed to like again?

Gangway Fathead 2009-03-15 05:57:05 PM
What self-important douchebags. I hope someone they look up to turns them away someday.

Oh, I forgot - Radiohead is too superior to look up to anyone else.

/No, I'm not a Miley Cyrus fan, and yes, she's over reacting and needs to get over it.

organizm: I forgot that on Fark we're not supposed to like Radiohead. Or U2. Or Nine Inch Nails. Or.. actually, what are we allowed to like again?

The correct answer is all the bands I like.

sorr 2009-03-15 06:03:22 PM
Miley seemed to think that telling this story would 'ruin" Radiohead's rep.

Actually, it has the exact opposite effect.

She may grow up to understand why.

I like radiohead's music a lot - but to go to an awards show and be selective about which fellow artists you'll deign worthy to kiss your ring is douchebaggery of the highest order.

If it was a Radiohead show it would be totally different.

edronny 2009-03-15 06:08:48 PM
I'll take a seat with the people who dislike Radiohead but appreciate Yorke's response.

I don't really like Miley either...I like two songs by each and think the rest of their music, much like their overall attitudes, sucks.

barneyfifesbullet 2009-03-15 06:14:28 PM
It's amusing how Miley Cyrus probably made more money this week than Radiohead has made in the last ten years.

If Radiohead had any credibility, they wouldn't be at the Grammys in the first place.

So they owe Little Miss Cyrus something? I mean why the fark do they not get to be selective with whom they meet and great or even just talk to? So anytime a teen pop star wants to meet a band at an award show the band is beholden to the pop star?

BillDozer357: Miley Cyrus's singing secrets here (new window)

Surprisingly, she's not one of the big offenders with the old Autotune/Melodyne.

There's some being used, granted, but not as much as say Britney Spears or any generic R&B "singer", or Rhianna Panda-Eyes.

On the other hand, she's a truly stupid waste of functioning kidneys who actually believes the marketing.

They could just say hello. How hard is that? They dont have to do it, they can do whatever they want, but saying a quick hello doesnt seem like such a big deal.

Because, of course, money=quality.
Then Britney Spears and her ilk should be on par with Beethoven, shouldn't they?

May not have been a big deal. But whose to say they wanted to. I mean she is annoying as all hell and 16. Plenty of reason to not want to say hello.
//also her father gave us achy breaky heart.

I'm sorry to say it, but I agree totally. Radiohead are okay, but they're marketed as being some secret club that if you listen to them, you're a genius. It's not just Radiohead that seem to have big heads, their fans think they're so very special for listening to such dreck.

The Icelander [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 06:32:59 PM
1. Radiohead is a bunch of douches for not wanting a fan, any fan, to meet them. Fans are the people who pay for their gold-plated toilet seats.

2. Fans shouldn't feel entitled to meet the people they're fans of. Almost all the people and groups I'm a fan of are completely unaware of my existence. Which is okay, because they have cool things to do, like make more music or write more books.

\But I've got a lot of respect for famous people who make time for their fans.

organizm 2009-03-15 06:33:24 PM
I think Radiohead are absolutley brilliant. Not for everyone, I realize, but brilliant none the less. I could care less about what they do outside of the music they release, and I could especially care less about then offending some 16 year old spoiled teen pop princess. This is actually really stupid, isn't it?

Cake Hunter [TotalFark] 2009-03-15 06:33:57 PM

Im not saying they wanted to, have to, needed to, or should have. But she is 16 (of course she is annoying) and they are adults. Why not just say hello. I dont really care either way but snubbing a 16 year old girl is pretty weak. But I really dont care. I dont happen to enjoy either of them (not saying they arent talented) so I am pretty much just asking a question.

Should of just met Miley Cyrus and be done with it.

Sounds like easy publicity.

Christ, who said anything about money equaling quality. You sound like a farking douchebag bringing up a strawman that wasnt even part of the discussion.

For the record, Miley is talented and very under-rated by people like us who she dont market to. She dont lip synch, she plays her own stuff, and *gasp* writes her own music as well.

You may not like her (I don't) but you cant throw her in with the Britneys of the world, shes in a different class. sorry.

No, they don't OWE her anything, but they're douchebags not to say hello. Just like I don't OWE my mailman anything when he acknowledges me, but I'd be a douchebag not to acknowledge him back.

And again, if she came to their show and couldn't get back stage, that would be totally different.

They're snobs. Everyone here is defending snobs because it happened to a pre-fab pop-tart that none of us like who in turn over-reacted.

I see. I never actually bothered to verify, I just assumed it was a safe guess because 95% or more of everything out there is vocal tuned anymore. Hell, even the guy who recorded my old local band tried to auto-tune our singer, and he didn't need it.
