It's also my birthday.

I often tell people who ask that I was born on "The Ides of March." Most of them have no idea what the hell I'm talking about.

I weep for America's education system.

Is it bad that I read the headline and checked my comp's clock like: "HOLY SHIAT, IT'S MARCH ALREADY ZOMG!"?

I really need to stop drinking, sometime after St. Patrick's Day. (Looks again, ZOMG WTF TWO DAYS?!)

I'm a friendly stranger in a black sedan, won't you hop inside my car? (new window)

Thanks Coco! That's just what the doctor ordered.

I was hoping for an Ides of March thread. Even at university most people don't recall the ides of March. However roman political history generally isn't a strong suit for engineering students.

They also rarely remember, remember the fifth of November.

/Not British

Oh man, the scene in Rome when Caesar is murdered in the Senate... one of the most brilliant and moving scenes ever. Ciaran Hinds was amazing. Even though Brutus and Cassius were in the right I just wanted to kill the little rats. Must get the DVDs, or are the Blu-rays available yet?

I often tell people I was born a fortnight prior to the summer solstice, but I'm sort of a pretentious douchebag. Sure, I could just give them the date, but screw the notion of a clear exchange of ideas, I'm all about the smug factor couched in hypocritical concern!

Raging Thespian: I believe submitter is implying that it is ironic because Julius was the stabber instead of the stabee as you would expect on the Ides of March. It is, however, a stretch.

Correct.
I knew it was a stretch, but it seemed more appropriate than the overused Dumbass or Scary tags.

I make them solve a nonlinear differential equation that can only be numerically simulated to find a Goedel number which after decomposition gives the month, date, and year. Nobody has attended my birthday party in years for some reason. I blame the American educational system!
