Yeah, you got me the first time too, subby. I was thinking, "They offered protection to librarians? Well, that was nice. Shame to take it away."

Damnit, I had to look up redacted to see if I misunderstood the meaning of the word.

Wiki:

In the study of literature, redaction is a form of editing in which multiple source texts are combined together (redacted) and subjected to minor alteration to make them into a single work. Often this is a method of collecting together a series of writings on a similar theme and creating a definitive and coherent work.

Cool - So, it was an excuse to censor without censoring?

Nice! I'm off to redact scriptures to reflect my more - ahem - hedonistic nature.

I am the Loan Operations Assistant (middle managment of student employees) for a college library, so I, too, am getting a kick out of this. They can have Dewey. Good libraries use the Library of Congress system anyway.

Can I interest any of you in an excusive offer for a piece of American History? This 9-11 Commemorative Piece is Liberian Legal Tender and will is a touching tribute to those who lost their lives on that fateful day. Don't pass up this offer for a piece of history that you can pass on down to your children and grandchildren. God Bless America.

Pathetic human race. Arranging their knowledge by category just made it easier to absorb.

Dewey, you fool! Your decimal system has played right into my hands! Ha ha ha ha!

Aside from the Liberians, does anyone really beleive that Obama's aunt has finally been shown the door after defying a deportation order for over 5 years? Hmmmmm?

Liberia is the place where we sent some Marines a while back to help with their internal strife. 13 year olds with fright wigs and machine guns running amok, shiat like that. How many did we send? Seven. No joke. Maybe we've sent more since then, but I was like "7? WTF? Is that even a whole squad? Why send seven? Seems better to do nothing at all."

CIA fact book fun:

Life expectancy at birth: 41.13 years
Unemployment rate: 85%
GDP - per capita (PPP): $500
Infant mortality rate: 143.89 deaths/1,000 live births
Commercial bank prime lending rate: 15.05%
Oil - production: 0 bbl/day (no natural gas either)
Debt - external: $3.2 billion (about 3x their federal budget)

Meh, they can have the Dewey, the Library of Congress classification system is much more precise and adaptable to accomodate fields of knowledge that didn't exist when both systems were created.

/why yes, I AM a librarian, why do you ask?

How about we keep him and deport Sharon Jasper?

Straelbora 2009-03-15 04:12:24 PM
I'm not a librarian, I'm an immigration lawyer. You can spell it out to people that when they apply for Temporary Protected Status, the operative word is "temporary," and someday, the letter telling them to leave will come. Then, they act shocked and as some right to stay permanently has been abridged when the letter arrives.

It's interesting the guy in the article mentioned both his ministry and foreclosure- over the last few years, many of the west Africans I've dealt with as a visa overstay, Liberian TPS, entry on false docs, etc. seemed to have been working in both cons, that is, running a church and doling out mortgages to people with no money...
