And officials throughout the party plan to hammer the idea that Republicans are just saying "no" to the president's budget plans without offering their own alternative.

House Republicans, who released an alternative to the stimulus bill

This is going to suck.

whats amazing about articles like this is that they spell out exactly the BS that both sides plan to say days/weeks/months in advance but people will still parrot these talking points back thinking they were spontaneous comments during an "interview".

FTFA:

Plouffe e-mailed supporters over the weekend with a challenge labeled "The next few weeks": "In the next few weeks we'll be asking you to do some of the same things we asked of you during the campaign-talking directly to people in your communities about the President's ideas for long-term prosperity."

But received a disappointing response from fellow comrades as the e-mail was not titled "Herbal Viagra For Less" or "Bigger Boner In Days."

Most articles use "unnamed officials". Read any AP article -- it will say "according to a knowledgeable source who remains anonymous because [some garbage reason]".

Yes, journalism should have the ability to use unnamed sources at times. It just seems that now they use unnamed sources the majority of the time, even when there's no apparent reason for it, which undermines journalistic integrity.

Cool, now Al Qaeda can go back to being enemy #1 for the Obama Administration. Bin Laden's last audio message showed he was getting a little upset that no one was paying attention to him.

Hat Madder: the PR campaign against Limbaugh

Please explain to me how calling a Republican "a leader of the Republican party" is a "campaign against" him. Are the Republicans truly SO toxic that it's now considered an attack to call a Republican a Republican?!?

you haven't been paying attention.

the rush/dnc battle was a massive success for the dems. it sent the already simmering GOP into utter turmoil, and will probably end up with a "vote of no confidence" against their second-in-command, michael steele.

and it reinforced the impression that rush - a man despised by most of america, despite his "20 million" hardcore wingnut listeners - is the de-facto leader of the GOP.

no - this was a masterstroke by rahm emmanuel and the dems.

While it pains me to respond to a retarded troll: Yes. Let them move. Let them go to their capitalist paradise where they have more of their money left after taxes and yet get all the benefits of living in the US.

Someone else will take advantage of the opportunity and get rich. No sweat.

It's actually pretty interesting.

If this guy is telling the truth about listening to Limbaugh, he does a pretty good job parroting them. If it's true, then he's getting Rush's schpeil second hand. Maybe Rush really is the leader of the republican party.

He might be lying, though. He spews a high percentage of the same excrement as Limbaugh.

And why is that map misleading? I bet you can answer that, given a moment to think about it, but to save time, let's take a look at a proportional map, that is one that measures people, not acreage:

bkneese.com

And if we really want to be honest, we should look at a map that is not simply red or blue, but one that shows the difference as shading from red to purple to blue:

cscs.umich.edu

Unfortunately color is hard to interpret quantitatively. I would actually prefer a 3-D map that plots the difference as plus/minus for each county in addition to the color. Basically a contour map.

Well, since I've been accused of pissing myself in fear, let someone (who you might recognize) else speak for how close we came in Cuban Crisis part I:
Sen. Biden referred to how Jack Kennedy was tested in the Cuban Missile Crisis. My friends, I had a little personal experience in that. I was on board the USS Enterprise. I sat in the cockpit of a flight deck on the USS Enterprise off of Cuba. I had a target. My friends, do you know how close we came to nuclear war? America will not have a President who needs to be tested. I've been tested my friends.
