Screw them just wear a pointy white hat.

He declined to say specifically why it might be offensive. Dru's parents, Scott Lechert and Paul Kelly, suggest it's race.

This is MY fiefdom, I don't have to explain myself to you or ANYONE!

I'm offended by anything that may stimulate a child's imagination or interest in learning. That's why I'm on a school board.

Dru Lechert-Kelly, 11, hoped to dress presidentially and dance to a YouTube parody that features an Obama look-alike and a rap called "I Can Do Whatever I Like."

So basically, his parents need to be sterilized and/or banned from listening to Rush Limbaugh?

It's actually a kinda funny T.I. parody done by the guy SNL really should hire to play Obama. It's no "Barack the Magic Negro".

Here's the video. (new window)

This is why he should be doing Obama on SNL instead of Armisen. (new window)

And yeah, this is just retarded. Not everything involving a black guy is potentially offensive.

Also does not think the kid's act would work without the mask.

Is it blackface they are worried about?

Uh, no, it's not "Barack the Magic Negro", it's simply, nonoffensive humor. School administrators need to visit the school nurse to get sand out of their vagina.

Hope and Change and it's not my fault! Comrade Obama will blame anyone but himself as he was forced to waste a Trillion dollars.

What the hell does that have to do with some asshole parents in Oregon complaining about some stupid mask?

People need to get tougher skin and stop being offended by every damn thing.

in 1972 in Mrs. Goldie's 4th grade class, I got in trouble for my drawings of Nixon. His nose was way too big to be considered realistic. And my captioning was very disrespectful.

They should have let the kid wear the mask and do her little right-wing song and dance.

And then uphold the audience's right to boo the crap out of her afterward.

Fair's fair.

That is frkking sad. Nobody came to your defense?

I'm pretty sure the reason is that you can't wear masks in many schools these days.

Around here schools haven't allowed masks on Halloween for quite a while.

Two things from the article:

1) "The choreographed routine rehearsed Thursday ends with Dru on the floor in the splits and was met with applause from students and teachers."
2) "Dru's parents, Scott Lechert and Paul Kelly,"

This is about the mask, but it isn't just about the mask.

Who are the parents who are in charge of the show and felt that a skit which got applause from students and teachers -- would be offensive for being pro-Obama?

So I do believe that someone has failed to read the thread. If you had, you'd have seen the YT link to the video off of which he was basing his performance. Turns out to be a pro-Obama victory lap song, based on a T.I. song "whatever I like."

Don't let the truth get in the way of assumptions, though. :)

THIS

That said, is it the content of the song, or the fact that he is a ten year old, and probably knows about as much as Obama on the subject of economics?

/kidding... mostly...
//thought the song equally jabbed at both parties...
///also thought it would be really cute/hilarious
