Actually, this article does make a good point.

Mordant [TotalFark] 2009-03-14 04:43:06 PM
Inherited sort of implies he didn't ask for what he got. Other than the lying neocons there isn't anyone who doesn't know what kind of mess was being left for the next guy. If Obama didn't want to spend his days cleaning up the rest room after a biker gang with the runs held their 5 alarm chili festival then he shouldn't have applied for the job.

No matter which Democrat won the election, and no matter what he/she did in the first 50 days, The GOP would be saying the exact same thing.

Of course, they are as predictable as children. Not quite as responsible as children, but definitely as predictable.

It wasn't quite that clear when Obama began running over 2 years ago.

It also wouldn't surprise me to learn that some of our better connected Republican members of congress tried to sabotage Obama after he won the election.

This bubble was way more than 8 years in the making, it more than likely started around 94. Clinton shares the blame with Bush as far as who was president during the build up of the bubble. Greenspan should take a lot of the blame for it, as he was head of the Fed when banks began the credit default swapping. Pretending it was only Bush that caused the mess is as ignorant as people blaming it all on Obama.

I'm not sure that ordinary Americans feel that way.

My GFs parents back in 2002 and on (we aren't together anymore) used to watch lots of "The Factor" and would constantly spew his talking points. By the end of the Bush administration they had finally stopped watching the show because they disliked Bush that much. I talk to the girl a few days ago and she tells me her parents are watching Oreilly again, and are really upset with obama and how "he has picked nothing but immoral criminals for his cabinet, is ignoring what the american people want from him, and has gone back on most of his campaign promises".

So these people aren't the 27%-ers or whatever who blindly follow bush, but will soak in a fox news talking point even after being disgusted with Oreilly on his bush views.

Its scary.

No it isn't. Blaming it on Bush is at least partly correct.

Blaming it on Obama is stupendously ignorant.

One thing I've never understood is why Dad keeps cheering for the Republicans. He was fired from his comfortable manager level executive job right before he hit retirement age (the reason given was 'corporate reorganization' but we all knew the score), and yet he STILL thinks that somehow some corporation is going to rehire him if he acts Republican and waves his little flag hard enough.

This great candidate of change and hope doesn't realize he's president. He CANNOT say one sentence without mentioning Bush. It breaks my heart watching him read his tele prompter and never inspiring anyone with his words, but being terrified that he's gonna take some blame for ANYTHING! Real leaders look forward and lead by example and telling us things from the heart. I honestly thought Obama had these qualities, but you can't please everyone every time you speak. I would bet you that if he bumped into someone and spilled their drink he would say Bush did it before the liquid hit the floor.

Yeah, blaming it on Clinton makes more sense. Of course, the farkups of Clinton were generally those where he compromised with Republicans or otherwise acted more conservatively. . .

farking republicans. from the moment obama took office, boehner and mcconnell have refused every single offer of bipartisanship and have openly opposed his every move - not in a "loyal opposition" sort of way but in a petulant five-year-old sort of way. and now they're complaining that he's telling the truth about being handed the worst economy since the great depression, the worst military situation since vietnam and the worst foreign policy environment, well pretty much ever?

eat a bowl of dicks, GOP, and farking choke on them, you hypocritical scumbag bastards!

Vote independent because somehow those politicians are different ?

no, for a long time things were going fairly well. But we've made mistakes. we equated money with speech, which ended up legalizing bribery. we hamstrung state legislatures when we took away their ability to elect US Senators. we somehow got it into our heads that government was supposed to protect us from ourselves. Seperately, those mistakes (and others) wouldn't have been so bad, but taken together they're slowly killing us.

That's why they started fixing everything as soon as they got Clinton out of the way. They knew all the problems that his policies were going to cause down the road and took steps so that these terrible things wouldn't happ... wait.

they did.

obama scheduled a meeting with john boehner and the senior house GOP to see if they could come to an agreement on the stimulus. obama was willing to increase tax cuts and lower the overall dollar amount to help get republican votes.

even though boehner agreed to the meeting and was all smiles for the cameras - he had already instructed EVERY SINGLE HOUSE REPUBLICAN TO VOTE "NO" ON THE BILL, NO MATTER WHAT CONCESSIONS WERE OFFERED.

THAT is the sort of lying, underhanded scumbaggery we're dealing with here. and that is the typical GOP response to bipartisanship.

and they have the gaul to biatch about partisanship? fark them. they INVENTED partisanship.

The message stated, in part:

"We gonna cap and trade yo sorry, oil sucking butts till you white trash, honky crackers all be extinct. Or mebbie we just put a cap in youall's butts."

The White House has refused to comment on the matter.
