Thanks for having absolutely no tact DrForrester. Do you even care that the Scary tag and his rarely used wife, Surprisebuttsecks, have only days left together?

the information about the Hawks' position had been "ambiguous" and there was confusion over whether the pilots were in Bristol or Cardiff airspace.

You know what other ambiguous, confusing person was often in Cardiff airspace?

Imagine the number of greenlights a person could get if there really were a Surprisebuttsecks tag.

The article left me a little confused. Was there any "doubt that any risk of collision had been quickly and effectively removed?"

I'm sorry, did you just call Hot Shots "another movie"? Blasphemy.

and they sound like they're downplaying this in a big way "jolly good, nothing to worry about, just a minor incident, hardly an incident at all, really..."

I saw the RA team at RAF Mildenhall a couple times in the eighties. First time the formation came in to land, the leader went off the runway into the grass. They weren't alone though. A B52 parked on the hammerhead was refueled wrong and an outrigger gear stuck in the grass deep.

A hospital, what is it?

It's a large building with a lot of sick people in it, but that's not important right now.

Female announcer: The white zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the red zone.
Male announcer: [later] The red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the white zone.
Female announcer: No, the white zone is for loading of passengers and there is no stopping in a RED zone.
Male announcer: The red zone has always been for loading and unloading of passengers. There's never stopping in a white zone.
Female announcer: Don't you tell me which zone is for loading, and which zone is for stopping!
Male announcer: Listen Betty, don't start up with your white zone shiat again.
[Later]
Male announcer: There's just no stopping in a white zone.
Female announcer: Oh really, Vernon? Why pretend, we both know perfectly well what this is about. You want me to have an abortion.
Male announcer: It's really the only sensible thing to do, if its done safely. Therapeutically there's no danger involved.

The last thing he said to me, doc, he said, "Sometime when the crew is up against it, the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to get out there and give it all they got and win just one for the Zipper. I don't know where I'll be then doc, he said, but I won't smell too good, that's for sure.

Somewhere over the ocean near Vietnam, 1970:

A B52 is being escorted by an F-4 Phantom.

Phantom pilot does a barrell roll "What did you think of that?" The phantom pilot says to the B-52 crew. "Your turn."

B-52 pilot gets on the radio. "I just turned off two of my engines. Your turn."

A Canadian 707 was escorting some F-18's to Germany, over the north Atlantic (yes, I really was in in the Air Force back then). An F-18 pilot radios the Boeing crew and says "watch this". He then proceeds to do a slow roll. The Boeing pilot answers back "yeah, that's cool and all, but I can do better". For the next several minutes, the F-18 pilot watches as the Boeing continues straight and level. Finally, he can't stand it and calls the Boeing pilot to ask when he's going to do his trick. The Boeing pilot answers back " While you were sitting there, I went in the back, took a dump and now I'm sipping a coffee. How's your diaper doing?".

Cheers.
