Meghan McCain is reasonable, sane, and seems smart. I'll give her that. I'm not really inclined to support political socialites, but she doesn't deserve this.

Beyond their looks, personality matters. Laura Ingraham is a biatch. And it seems she's jealous of McCain and trying the tried-and-tested method of jealous, catty women: trying to one-up her target with an "I'm skinnier than you" relative attractiveness argument. Hey Laura, anyone can be skinny, but you can't diet away being a shallow, viperous biatch. That's ugliness on the inside.

Unfortunately, Ingraham also pulled this stunt on a younger and more conventionally attractive woman. Meghan McCain is decidedly not plus-size. She's curvy in a healthy way and I'd say she's pretty cute. Plus, in an America where like 60% of the population is overweight or obese, Meghan is actually kind of the norm or skinnier than the norm, which isn't going to win Ingraham any friends.

Attacking her for her words and actions are one thing. Her looks are another. The latter is called ad hominem and only makes the declarant look small and without a legitimate argument.

She can say whatever she wants about whoever she wants, especially since, like Ingrahm said, the only reason anyone paid attention to her is because she's McCain's daughter. But doing so in a public forum opens her up for attacks -- on her comments -- not on her hot hot curves.

That isn't really abut Rush so much as the personal excess and lack of self-control that hypocritically accompany his rants on how everyone else should live their lives, and his own daily ad-hominem attacks on others. He's made himself a target for everything he gets and his drug abuse and obesity have actually become symbolic of his type of excessive and unhealthy political discourse. In any case, I don't think most people would agree with going on TV and calling out Rush for being a fatass, particularly when they can accurately call him a drug addict.

Meghan McCain, on the other hand, is maybe 15 lbs overweight and looks good. She appears to be healthy. She has the body most American women have. I don't remember ever hearing her doing anything to merit this kind of personal attack. Slamming her for not being anorexic is pretty out of line.
