The Blur vs Oasis "feud" was retarded. Perhaps if there was an iota of similarity between their music, it would've been relevant...

Noel G. on Keane (from tfa):

"Keane? Traditionally speaking, the three biggest twats in any band are the singer, the keyboardist and the drummer. I don't need to say anything else."

lol

Besides, Suede was better anyway.

You just inspired me to dust off my Suede LP and play "The Drowners." OK, it's actually an mp3 but I was trying to sound cool enough to be in a Britpop-related thread.

/first was the best, IMHO

What Stones/Beatles feud?

Third_Uncle_Eno 2009-03-13 02:05:59 AM
that list needed more The Kinks brothers feud
and the Waters vs. Gilmour feud.

Notice how all artists mentioned make crappy music.

no roger waters/david gilmour (depending who you ask) douchebaggery? no dave mustaine, whose entire farking career is based around a feud with the biggest band in metal?

No Coolio v. Weird Al?

No Flea v. Weird Al?

Or inter-group fracas like:

John v. Paul
Brian Jones v. Jagger
Y v. CSN
Ozzy v. Sabbath
Nesmith v. Jones, Dolenz,& Tork
Fogerty v. CCR

and finally:
Zappa v. The recording industry

I don't know if it the greatest but it certainly is up there. The frontman for Dillinger escape plan takes a dump onstage ( the jumbotron giving the audience a close up of of his quivering butthole) hold up a bag full of his shiat and says this is what I think of Puddle of Mudd.

Why would any artist have anything against Weird Al? Being parodied by Weird Al is one of the benchmarks damnit, it's like appearing as a guest in Simpsons and being depicted in South Park masturbating a pig. Each is a small benchmark saying that you're actually make a catchy tune, and have any sort of general significance in the world.

No, no, no...not punching. Slapping, hair pulling, definitely the tearing of clothes. Okay, it may still be early, but I'm heading back to my bunk.

The_Philosopher_King: Zappa v. The recording industry

One of the all-time great running feuds, documented at length in "The Real Frank Zappa Book."

Say what you will about Noel Gallagher (his music sucks, the man's a pr1ck) but he can lay out some of the best insults in pop music history: "And he looks like Zorro on doughnuts" has been added to my list for use in the next flamefest that comes along.

The Kinks Ray vs Dave.

40 years & counting.

jda007 2009-03-13 09:24:15 AM
Hahahaha! I love that Oasis is mentioned. Their music is pretty good (I had a roommate in law school that was obsessed and that sort of kicked it off) but their fights and attitude crack me up!

At the recent concert in December, at the very end, Noel announced:

"You've been great tonight. . . but not as great as us!"

They're awesome - it's like cheering for Vader because he's a cool bad guy.

If you're not really into their stuff, I suggest DLing D'Ya Know What I Mean, Supersonic, F*ing in the Bushes, Live Forever, and Morning Glory. It's pretty solid rock.

/Yeah I drank the Oasis Kool-Aid, what's your point?
//I was a "Oh the band that played Wonderwall guy too" but seriously, they've got some good stuff.

Metallica vs their fans

Danzig v. North Side Kings gets no mention?

Granted, it wasn't really about music. Still better example than any of this whiny shiat.

Flea was complaining that he didn't like the treatment of Bedrock Anthem. He wasn't as mad as Coolio was over Amish Paradise but he was on one of the VH1 shows saying how he didn't like it and didn't think it was funny.

DrakeLabatt 2009-03-13 01:22:41 PM
No MegaDeth vs. Metallica?
No Satriani vs. Coldplay?
No Axl Rose vs. Planet Earth?

That list was epic fail. It's like an 18-year-old Brit who has downloaded a bunch of pop music made it up in about 30 seconds while sitting on the can. Then he Googled a couple feuds to tack onto the end of his "article" to give it "legitimacy".

Actually, you know what, that one wins. You can't really outdo stabbing someone 23 times over music. Suck it, Zappa.

buttsmckracken: No Metallica versus Megadeth?

Hasn't that been, in the band's views, more of a one-sided feud with Mustaine desperately attempting to one up Metallica over and over again with commercial success but being trounced at every corner?

/Mind you, this is not in the minds of the fans
//There is a huge feud THERE
///And much debate over who is more successful

that said the best Oasis feud is Noel v. Liam circa MTV unplugged

I didn't see any artists listed, with the possible exception of The Flaming Lips.
