Comparing your new album to two of the greatest albums in music history is a good way to invite comments like Reznor's. I haven't heard it so I can't comment on its quality, but damn, dude...don't set expectation so high.

Yeah, it's not for him to rate it; it's for the audience to say yeah or nay. This crap puts him in the Noel Gallagher category.

And I believe Trent Reznor is a farking musical genius, and have since the first time I watched him drag his equipment out of a van back in the late 80's.

Trent is right on this one.

The Fragile is also my favorite of his, followed closely by Downward Spiral. I remember reading how he was deep into alcoholism during the whole recording/producing process of Fragile which explains why it sounds the way it does. His whole new steroid look and heavy drum stuff doesn't really do it for me, although Ghosts was solid.

You know Chris Cornell must be REALLY hurting for cash when he makes a dance album with Timbaland.

Cobain must be spinning in his grave.

Well, in his defense, Trent wasn't really attacking Chris. There's a whole other twist to this rant that was missed due to Trent's poor grammar. It was supposed to go like this:

See? Trent Reznor, always cutting out the middle man.

I'm listening to the album on the Chris Cornell website.

I'm on song three, and so far all I've heard is a boatload of suck with some electronic noise thrown in.

This isn't the worst thing i've ever heard. But "I Jizzed In My Pants" is a better song than this first track i'm listening too.

Never!! Was forced to spend three weeks in Audio Engineering courses remixing and mastering this song. Hate hate hate it.

Cornell broke his rusty cage a long time ago. The "Casino Royale" theme song was cool but that's the last thing I can remember enjoying from him.

He's never done anything I'd regard as straight-up bad before. Even Audioslave were OK, by and large.

That is one big vortex of suck right there. I'd rather listen to Operator--the Chris Cornell knock-off.

You know what I think Chris Cornell should do? Cover "Life on Mars." Apparently he sings the theme song or whatever for the show "Life on Mars" which is what put this into my head to begin with. The man has some pipes, and I think he could do a great job with the song.

Cornell's Scream ain't Soundgarden. Jetison those first two tracks and it's pretty good.

Actually, I was there with my kid, and it was his first concert ever so cut him a break, eh? He just wanted to hear the Transformers theme song. I'm well over 40, so none of the crap you kids call "music" these days appeals to me anyway. And get off my lawn.

Bob Mould tried to do the same thing, going electronic to break out of a creativity slump. It too, was awful.

But, I've heard much worse. Sonofabiatch! Stupid diverse Cornell.

It's on track to sell 20,000-25,000 in the first week, which is really really bad, especially considering how much publicity it's already gotten. Looks like Cornell and Axl have something in common once again.

If diversity means hiring a bunch of "hot" producers and putting out manufactured garbage on par with something Britney Spears could do, then he's very diverse. But whatever, he's 45. Some people burn out and lose their creative passion as time goes by, but they still need to pay the bills. Either that, or he's so deluded that he thinks he's a really good singer.

I'll give him credit for trying something different but god damn that album is terrible ("take me alive" is ok). On his website he says he pushed Amazon to sell the album for $2.99.

Honestly, imho, he did used to be a really good singer. Love Soundgarden and alot of his solo recordings. I even liked some of the Audioslave tracks. But this I can't get into.

Cornell has always been more concerned about his looks than his music.
