Actually, anyone with a DUI/DWI that hasn't been expunged will have a hard time getting into Canada.

mofomisfit 2009-03-12 10:56:41 AM
Right, and the local police department MAY allow me unfettered see and take access to their narcotics evidence room just because I asked.

MDGeist 2009-03-12 10:57:00 AM
Well he did attack another country for no real reason. So they do have a point.

Hypothetical question...

If Bush were to go to Canada and get detained for war crimes, what would Obama do?

It's nice that they let the mentally challenged take part in society up there.

Now only if the United States would do the same thing

I see from the comments here that we do too.

He'd offer to buy him back for 4 trillion dollars?

Just kidding. I mean 400 trillion.

Right. He attacked Iraq pre-emptively...while all-but-ignoring the people who ACTUALLY attacked us.

Not to mention, since Saddam was probably the most secular leader in the Middle East, Al-Qaeda (religious extremists, in case you forgot) HATED him. So we took out our real enemy's enemy, while letting our real enemy get off scot-free.

Heckuva job, Bushie.

I'm hoping some country will pull a Pinochet on him and arrest him when he's there for a $100,000 speaking gig.

Shaggy_C 2009-03-12 11:05:35 AM
img1.fark.net tag would have been more appropriate. I'm sure like most leftists they would have no problem shaking hands with Hugo Chavez or Fidel Castro, but the American President is far too evil to even allow to enter the nation without fear of arrest. Pathetic.

Pish posh... now you're just nit-picking. These people are lawyers. Lawyers, Saiga! They know the law and what is best for society. That's why you get just a little line in the phone book, and they get the whole back cover!

Or better yet, let him in, then "extraordinary rendition" him to Holland. He and people like Charles Taylor can rot in jail together at the Hague.

I don't think Obama's had time to remove that particular shiat stain from the Constitution after Bush wiped his ass with it for 8 years.

Well, we don't farking want him in our country, and now that he's no longer in charge, and widely hated in the US, why is that stupid?

Plus, the story was about people trying to get him banned. It wasn't saying the RCMP were acutally going to do it.

No Such Agency: Or better yet, let him in, then "extraordinary rendition" him to Holland. He and people like Charles Taylor can rot in jail together at the Hague.

That's a good precedent. The Secret Service allows that sort of thing to happen and somehow it won't embolden all the crack-pots that are crazily mad that we have a black president now?

On a related note, did I just miss the thread about the Iraqi, shoe-tossing journalist getting sentenced to three years? I'd have thought that was prime Fark material.

yes, that's EXACTLY the way it works. we would be happy to shake hands with dictatorial pieces of shiat just b/c we think Bush committed crimes.

get a life, jackass.

I can't speak for all leftists, but I find any leader who trashes the rule of law and uses torture abhorrent, whether it's Bush, Castro, Chavez, or Pinochet (who, it should be noted, had and has plenty of American right-wing defenders).

/The most significant political divide is between liberals and authoritarians, not left- and right-wingers.

LoL.. in Michigan we call this Ohio Fu*ked. So when traveling to Canada or from Canada we alwayse make sure that we stay far, far away from any lain that has an Ohio Plate. So my point is that it is just as bad as having a DUI.

When do we set up the sting operation at Laguardia and JFK to nab Chavez, Mugabe, Castro, etc when they come to visit the UN?

Oh that's right!!! It's only a talking point if it's Bush.

Hypothetically speaking. Who would you rather have torture you. Bush? Castro, Chavez, or Pinochet?

It is a hypothetical question...OK? You are going to be tortured, but you get to pick your confessor. Who of those four men do you want supervising it?

I have. When I was in college one of my professors was an ex-CIA agent who told stories about drinking with Pinochet. He said he was a nice guy, if completely off his rocker.

He was an evil bastard, but for a while he was OUR evil bastard.
