Yeah, hasn't done a damn thing that's good for anyone and deserves to die a painful death. Our lives would be so much better if he hadn't chosen the Senate as his career. One less voice supporting equal marriage rights, expanding hate crime protection, helping to get health insurance for kids, promoting alternative energy research and development, raising military pay... What a jackhole.

Well, there's also like $1 million approved to plan Reagan's 100th birthday party.

So I guess we can call it equal?

The bill includes $5.8 million for the planning and design of a building to house a new Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate. The funding may also help support an endowment for the institute.

The bill also includes $22 million to expand facilities at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum and $5 million more for a new gateway to the Boston Harbor Islands on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, a park system in downtown Boston named after Kennedy's mother and built on land opened up by the Big Dig highway project.

Ok, so we've got a building that we'd need to have anyway, but we're naming it after him. We've got the JFK Presidential Library, (not going anywhere) and our park system that- again- is simply named after the family.

Guess what? The Kennedy's have a long history in Massachusetts, and stuff will continue to be named after them for a long time. I'm not a huge fan of everything Teddy stand for (Cape Wind), but as someone who helps poor kids go to college, Ted Kennedy literally makes my job easier.

Also, subby, where are you from? Because If it's a state that receives more in federal taxes than it pays, you can go play in traffic on a highway I paid for.

DeadZone 2009-03-12 11:23:30 AM

Great! Here come the bleeding-heart pistachio loving cream-tards, throwing up their "but it tastes yummy!" strawman again. Rush and Hannity both agree that if it weren't for all the damned green ice cream flooding the market, the Dow would now be at 18,000. Plus, there is convincing scientific evidence that a water fountain was used in impregnating Octo-mom.

Yeah, I probably should have expressed my cynicism about politicians, but that would have wrecked my FU tirade.

Everyone is hypocritical at some point. Politicians get to have those moments recorded on public record.

Do I think he's perfect? Hell no. But I agree with a lot of what he's done.

I would agree that it should be illegal to do so while the politician is still alive or shortly after.

Make it like a pro-sport hall of fame, except instead of being retired for 5 years, you must be dead for 5.

More than one out of every five dollars of the $126 million Massachusetts is receiving in earmarks from a $410 billion federal spending package is going to help preserve the legacy of the Kennedys.

Wow.

Hmmm, not sure how to feel about this one...

On the one hand, I can't stand ol' Teddy (never voted for him), so I'm personally not in favor of naming anything after him or his family (or any politician for that matter, I guess).

On the other hand, watching the wing-nuts rip out their hair and beat their chests at the mere mention of Teddy is thoroughly enjoyable to me.

Tough call, really...

Fark off freepers.

Nobody thinks you actually give one flying fark about Kopechne anyways other than to use her name as a punchline. Your 30-year feigned outrage over that even is beyond ridiculous.

You guys don't give a rat's ass about the kids living in poverty down the block from you or the U.S. soldiers lives you pissed away in Iraq and we're suppossed to buy that you care about what happened to a campaign worker decades ago?

Even with Kennedy's horrible actions on that night he still balances out as a better man than you could ever hope to be. He's leaving America a better country. Neither president Reagan or either president Bush could make that claim.

You won't admit it, but that's what really pisses you off.

Actually, what pisses me off is the fact that the Kennedy's routinely rape and murder women, yet programmed buffoons like yourself excuse it because he is a liberal or because he comes from that pseudo-nobility of the Kennedy family. All the while hurling insults at conservatives as if though their blithering transgressions somehow excuse the disgusting behavior of that alcohol soaked shiat stain of a family.
