um, do a little research on mothersbaugh (new window) and you will realize the driving force behind devo has been driving nickelodeon and tons of other kids shows and movies for years.

/its not the kids who need to be introduced. they have been friends for a long long time.
//its the parents.

Words cannot express how happy this makes me.

I've been checking their website regularly hoping they would add some Canadian dates to their current tour.

Right farking on

I have mixed feelings about this kind of reunion record. It has been almost 20 years. Why not do something new instead?

/Devo fan

Back when Devo released Devo 2.0, an album that had young kids singing on their songs, I thought, 'What the hell are they thinking?' You'd be pressed to find a handful of adult Devo fans, why the hell would kids be interested? But then one day while visiting family, my 10 year-old cousin, who lives a very sheltered life in a strictly christian house, said she was a big fan of Devo. I quizzed her on song titles and lyrics, and by god she knew them. I then concluded that Mark Mothersbaugh is a genius.

irockalot: I quizzed her on song titles and lyrics, and by god she knew them.

Although I'm sure you merely asked her what her favorite songs were, I can't help shake the image of a hipster pulling out a standardized test form and a #2 pencil and then handing them off to a 10 year old with a test booklet to evaluate her musical knowledge.

Why? Are the Polysics (new window) not carrying the torch of devolution?!

/I think they rock harder than Devo

How dare they attempt to snap me out of the catatonic stupor into which I've been lulled.

WTF indeed, Devo. WTF.

Rev. Skarekroe: WTF IS THIS? A JOKE? would be a great name for the album.

Nice. But I think the band's statement would be a better one: De-Evolution Has Arrived.

Devo on tour, with Polysics opening.

You can kill me afterwards, there is not much else that could top that. Musically anyway.

Give the past a slip?

But excited.

I only heard of Devo because of Polysics, which I found out about through some Dwarf Fortress YouTube clip that used I My Me Mine
