You always hear these stories about a celebrity's possession going on the market with a price tag of $1 million or some such outrageous number.

You rarely hear the follow-up story, where it actually sold for $12,468.25.

It's gotten to the point where he can't sail anymore.

And it's a fair wind, blowin' warm,
Out of the south over my shoulder,
Guess I'll set a course and go...

Woof --- David Crosby is SOOOOOOO Cute.

Stood next to him in the Sci/Fi section in Powell's bookstore in Portland in 1993.

He's like 5'3"... little pocket bear....

Crosby's sold a lot of things in his lifetime. He even had the Hell's Angels chasing him around to pay his "bills".

I'd like to buy one of those pre-war Martin D-45's off of him. Go to Golden Gate Park, strum a few chords in an open tuning, and watch the hippie girls start parachuting in.

Here's the yacht in question:

She's a beauty.

But the wooden ships, are a hippie dream. Capsized in excess, if your know what I mean.

I didn't think the D-45's came out until the 1960's.

CSN&Y got the first 4?

C.F.Martin built a number of D-45's through 1942 until they used up their supply of rosewood which was restricted due to the war. Legend has it that Stills paid over $2k for one in 1968 to prevent a Japanese company from buying it just to take it apart and copy it.
The Mayan is a beautiful John G. Alden designed two masted
Bermuda rigged schooner. I think she was built in the 1920's.

Yeah, but David Crosby was quite possibly the worst songwriter of the 20th century. He was certainly the worst songwriter in ever group he was ever in.

worst songwriter of the 20th century

Afraid not. He did write "Lee Shore" after all.
