Not a big Scorpions fan, but that was kind of cool. Better than Kansas. And I was a huge Kansas fan back in the day.

Just goes to show you can take two people, play them the same piece of music and get two different opinions. The guys accent just ruins it for me.

Better than Kansas? Who WROTE the friggin thing? NO WAY!

Good version of a great song. Klaus threw me off at the start when he was tapping his feet in 8/16 time though.

I love that even Rudy Schenker's acoustic guitar is a Flying V.

World Wide Live may have been the soundtrack to my junior high years.

"And all your money won't another minute buy"

Nasal voice, silly accent, drunk-at-a-campfire strumming instead of that distinctive finger-picking pattern... better than Nickelback? Slightly. Better than Kansas? Not farking likely.

Except for the singer, that was pretty good.

It's not a better version than Kansas' original, but that has nothing to do with who wrote the song.

Scorpions has a very good album of acoustics, oddly enough, named "Acoustica"

Not bad - I think you need to like the Scorpions tone to like the song.

Also, the cellist IS hawt!

I'm lining up with this crowd:

Cellist: Hot
Version of song: Not

Subby here...Schenker's Flying V acoustic was the whole reason I posted this video. That is one of the coolest guitars I have ever seen.

It's a cool video. I'm not sure I love the treatment, but I'm all for people re-inventing musics. And while there are acoustic instruments, it's not really an acoustic performance, with the electric bass, keyboards, and a 250KW sound system :)

McBiggins 2009-03-08 02:17:09 PM
If you have an electric bass and digital keyboards can it still be acoustic?

This.

I couldn't get past "I close my eyeeee " and then shut the youtube. His voice does not work with that song.

I thought that was cool, but if I had the money to have a custom acoustic made, it'd be a Warlock or a Bich

I recently reacquainted myself with the 20-bit remasters of World Wide Live after many years of just fond memories, and was reminded once again of how awesome that record is. My car stereo needs to be about twice as loud to do that record appropriate justice.

I must say this is not the best choice they could have made for a cover, but they certainly went all-out to do it right. I've always liked the song, but this cover was kind of a ground rule double for me, far from a home run--as much as I love the band.

Cellist is HAWT, BTW. As if you didn't know.

The voice, the up-tempo drumming... Not a Happy Thing™ for me.

The Acoustic Flying V and Ariana the cellist... WANT! O So Very Much Want!

/Actually, a round-backed acoustic-electric Flying V 12-string or 6-course lute, especially if left-handed, would be even nicer
//Than the guitar in the vid, not the girl
///Nice slip of the shoulder strap and subsequent expression on her face

Bad band covering a bad song? It's not music, it's the music tab.

I actually enjoyed it.

When the heavy and the metal are removed from heavy metal, you are left with just a selection of unpleasant hairdos.
