I too clicked the link expecting something reminiscent of Fight Club, I guess I got it.

I worked at McDonald's during high school and haven't been able to eat any sort of soft-serve since. Of course, I got to carry the bags of mix and dump them into the machine so maybe I had a reason.

Interesting fact: if you get the mixes reversed in a McDonald's shake/soft serve machine, you get flavored ice cream you can't sell to customers. So the crew eats it. It also has the possibility of blowing up the shake machine.

I worked at the DQ for 2 months during high school. I learned very quickly that too much malt powder gives someone a very upset stomach. And yes, I did use that for a few laughs.

To play devil's advocate for a moment, I seriously wonder whether this isn't just a mistake on the part of the employee in cleaning procedure. Most of these folks aren't the sharpest tools in the pile if they tolerate working at a DQ at that age, barring exceptional circumstances. It's possible she failed to rinse out the malt containers of the cleaning solution, or mistook the malt mix for a cleaning mix.

I predict that, with a good defense attorney and a complete lack of motive per the article, she'll be found not guilty according to the facts already stated. If she truly did do what they allege, they ought to throw the book at her.
