I see what you did there, adminter.

Best part of living in Arizona.. I don't have to worry about that. Worst part of living in Arizona.. readjusting to friends in different time zones as I move from mountain time to pacific time.

Oh, how I hate this one. I need my sleep.

This is ultra-important if you happen to be a clergyman.

Late for services? That's a firin'.

Well, I think the only clock I have to manually program is the microwave.

UNC_Samurai: Well, I think the only clock I have to manually program is the microwave.

Yeah, this used to be much more dramatic than it is now. My car is the one that always trips me up because I never remember the code I need to input to change anything on it. Pretty much everything else gets the time itself, but I still miss my hour.

Wait, I live in western Colorado, not too far east of you. Why do I have to change?

/Used to live in Hawaii, grumbles. No "Daylight Saving" there, either.

This, but I just tell myself that I'm now the same time as California and 3 hours behind the east coast and I'm good.

Because we opted out years ago because if we did "spring forward," it wouldn't get dark here until after 9pm and guys running drive-in theatres wouldn't like that.

/true story, I swear

Miss living in Arizona, where we didn't do this either.

/Do you really want another hour of sunlight during the desert summer?

mike965 2009-03-08 03:13:47 AM
I work nights so I get off an hour early this morning... and by that I mean I'm going home early and celebrating with a good old fashioned wank

baxterdog [TotalFark] 2009-03-08 03:14:19 AM
Fark the dang time farking with. I'm still staying up still fark 30.

EverWatcher [TotalFark] 2009-03-08 03:15:05 AM
Just after my initial remark, I realized that the admin joke was twofold: it was greened not only right before it would be time to change one's clock, but also on the wrong day (if the word "tomorrow" hadn't been correctly yanked from the headline).

dreadprophet 2009-03-08 03:18:24 AM

Why do we still do this at this day in age?
Everyone goes by these new time sets but does it matter with newer CFL and LED bulbs?fark DST, I'll be an hour late to work

psicop 2009-03-08 03:27:32 AM
This is just wonderful. I'm working 3 double shifts in a row and the last thing I farking need is to lose an hour.

CT_Kirk 2009-03-08 03:28:55 AM
I'm working the overnight shift, so I get to go home an hour early and still get paid for the lost hour so I'm getting a kick...

I found myself going Insomniac and passed through Fark to see what was going on.

Sometimes, just sometimes, Fark puts out information that a few of us find useful. The Mrs. Geek is going to be miffed when she finds out she lost an hour of sleep.

/thought Daylight Savings started next week.

We made sure, before they went home last night, they were told no less than 5 times to set their clocks ahead when they got home.

RealFarknMcCoy2 2009-03-08 03:56:31 AM
Nope - we don't change the clocks until next month - and it's an hour back, not forward. Stupid Northern-hemisphere-centric-mitter.

/Did I do that right?

I'm hoping my replacement forgets about the time change, nothing wrong with getting overtime for working a normal shift.

schief2 [TotalFark] 2009-03-08 04:09:43 AM
I'm running Windows XP with "automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time" box checked under my preferences.

I watched my clock go from 1:58...to 1:59...to 1:00 AM.
