I lost 4 of mine to old age last year ( all 4 made it just barely over the 9 year mark ) --- and have 5 currently living out the absolute best years of their lives ( 2 and a half years to 4 years on their age spread ). I also own two Savannahs that love all my ferrets. When my Savs get old and pass away I doubt I will ever buy a non-ferret pet again. They are just so much fun , and the love you get from a ferret is so unconditional as to be unreal.

We have 2 ferrets. Jasmine is mean as anything and constantly wants to be biting us. We've tried everything to get her to stop. She is just a biter.

Pozy is the sweetest ferret I've ever had. She wants to always cuddle and lick your nose. She has never once bitten any of us.

The two of them together are a lot of fun. They especially enjoy the bathtub. And you are so right about the unconditional love. Ferrets are too silly to realize you are who keeps giving them the food, but they do love you no matter what. Even mean bitey ones. =)

The closest thing I've ever seen a ferret show to "love" was letting go before the fangs broke my flesh. While they are a lot of fun, I'd rather have a Savannah cat.
