There are lots and lots of Republicans in New York Submitard. It's actually more than a city, it's an entire state. TFA didn't mention it being done because he was a Republican either. Since he found it before it had a chance to freeze, I wouldn't be suprised to find that he did this himself for publicty. They roll over for the unions and pressure groups same as the Democrats do. They've got the same hog-wild spending habits, as an examination of the Pataki budgets will indicate. Nobody you could describe as a mainstream Republican in the rest of the country (let alone a conservative) has any true power anywhere in New York. When they do manage to grab a bit of power they go corrupt faster than you can say Joe Bruno. Chrissakes, Al D'Amato is still a mover and shaker here. Maybe you find a conservative here and there out in the sticks, but when the Assembly minority leader running in a special Congressional election can't manage better than a straddle when asked if he'd have voted for the stimulus package...when the entire House GOP voted against it...that's not moderate, that's being a weasel.

Greg Ball's an abrasive guy sometimes, and violent crime committed by illegals in his district is an unusually large problem compared to nearby areas, so it wouldn't surprise me if the threat was real.

It would also not surprise me if it was a hoax, just because it's New York and the standard mode of political discourse is douchebag vs. idiot.

We DID kick MS-13 out, the ones we could catch. They promptly took over most of El Salvador, and then came back. MS-13 runs most of the prisons in El Salvador already, and a big swath of LA. If you can come up with a way to get them out and keep them out, short of killing everyone south of Escondido, you'll be the biggest hero in America.
