Guess I'm too late to be in before the hate.

Where did he copy Buckley? and doesn't that make that song instantly awesome

So this is what it's like to look into the mind of a high functioning borderline autistic song writer. If I wasn't a Weezer fan, I think this would be pretty damn boring. I am a fan though, (yeah, I know everything after Pinkerton sucks...yada yada) so I found it strangely interesting to see River's writing process.

I never noticed how mentally unstable Rivers seems. From the outfit, to the crazed look in his eyes, to the bizarre speech pattern... he's OUT there. Also, it seems like he puts a LOT of work into these songs.

Great tune though.

/"King" is the best song from Red.

Dude, Island In The Sun, Hash Pipe, Glorious Day, O Girlfriend saved the Green Album.

"Haunt You Every Day" almost saves Make Believe.

"Almost" being the key word here...

meade2001: I never noticed how mentally unstable Rivers seems.

Pinkerton was a BIG tip-off to that... "Getchoo" was a particularly subtle hint.

"King" was worth the price of the deluxe version alone. That farking song was in my head for two weeks after hearing it. I love in the notes how Scott kept telling Rivers how good the song was and Rivers told him to sing it if he liked it so much. I really dig Scott's voice too.

I couldn't make it past two minutes on that video.

Rivers, I like a good chunk of your music, but good God man, you are the perfect example of what the ole' line "you must be a blast at parties" is aimed at.

This video bugs me out, I could collect all the video clips of rivers over the course of his career about his music and it wouldn't equal 1/2 the length of this. Even on their own DVD rivers is barely on cam talking.

Drugs? Where the fark did this video come from?

Get the Alone recordings if you're a Weezer fan - they're worth it for the liner notes alone - the longest probably ever released...

Rivers Cuomo lost all connection with sanity about the same time as Syd Barret's death. Coincidence?

He is obviously mentally ill. It might be a temporary episode. It might not be. My wife is like that. It is scary shiat at times.

Pastiche.

I like Weezer, but the Red Album released last year was a massive pile of crap. Of all the albums I was interested in getting last year, that was the worst by 100 miles.

Did you get the version with the bonus songs? Those four songs were better than anything on the album proper.

I'm not sure if I'd go that far. "Greatest Man" has really grown on me. I like "Pork and Beans" too; it's not exactly deep, but it reminds me of some of the lighter tracks on the Blue and Green albums.

Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: "Haunt You Every Day" almost saves Make Believe.

I'm not even sure if I'd give it that much credit. Make Believe is far, far beyond saving - "almost" gives the whole album more credit than it actually warrants.

No I didn't. I'll think about getting those songs off of iTunes.

I like the red album. The Greatest Man That Ever Lived, Pork and Beans, Troublemaker, Heart Songs, all good pop tunes in my humble opinion. The album gets a little boring after that, but it that's pretty much how it goes these days. I didn't pay for it, though, so maybe I had lower expectations. I don't think it's nearly as lame as Green.

Weezer is the greatest cover band of all time.

I love Weezer, always have. The Blue Album is the album I've been listening to the longest in my life, I kinda grew up with it. I'll always have a special place for this band in my heart. fark any music snobs who want to talk shiat.

The Red Album was OK, I really like "Greatest Man".

Maladroit is their most underrated album, I'm pretty sure lately it has surpassed Pinkerton as my 2nd-favorite Weezer album. It really doesn't get the credit it deserves.

My favorite being the Blue Album obviously, which for my money is one of the greatest debut albums in rock history.
