Poor Morrisey. I just can't bear to think of how he must be feeling right now. I bet the "interrogation" probably went like this:
"What is the nature of your visit?"
"How long will you staying?"
"Have you brought any fruits or vegetables with you?" (two weeks)
"Do you have anything to declare?"

I can only imagine how such a sensitive "arteest" with a fragile heart must feel after such intense grilling. I bet they gave it to him with both barrels and even asked him to show his identification.

He was questioned for murder because when he went through customs they smelled a cheeseburger on his breath.

He can smile about it now, but at the time it was terrible.

"You are the Quarry" is widely considered an excellent record, by fans and non fans alike.

So when you issue statement as if it's consensus when it's clearly not, who are you trying to be? Pitchfork?

Lameface 2009-03-06 11:36:01 AM
You are the Quarry is a masterpiece and morrissey's best. That is all, you can get back to your Nickleback records now subby.

I'm not really familiar with who this guy is, but it seems like every time he's mentioned in a Fark headline everybody just starts quoting his lyrics over and over.

Of all the pointless memes on Fark, this has to be the dumbest. Do you guys get some satisfaction out of knowing some line from some band nobody's listened to in 20 years? Can't you say something original? If you must comment in a Fark thread, the words you use should be your own. Don't plagiarize or take on loan, OK?

Weigard 2009-03-06 12:13:11 PM
What they should do is arrest Johnny Marr for ripping off T.Rex.

No, I was actually referring to incidents that happened in 2006 where Morrissey was detained by the FBI as well as authorities in the UK.

Trust me, I'm not Pitchfork.

I thought You Are the Quarry was a great record, as are the majority of his works, with and without The Smiths.

That fact that you think that nobody has listened to The Smiths in 20 years goes to show that you are unobservant.

Yeah, I know. I read the article.

Do you know what an "unstated premise" is? Well, there are two pretty glaring ones, right here, and I'll bet you'll miss at least one.

To be fair it's actually been 20 years, 7 months, and 27 days...

1. If Morrissey wrote it, then it's bad.
2. If it's bad, only prats listen to it.
3. Hence, Morrissey fans are prats.

I was just going through some old lps, found The Smiths in my collection. How did it get there? I don't remember buying it.

Rather ironic, given that he's made some very nasty remarks about immigrants:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-496992/Morrissey-refuses-live-UK-i m migration-explosion.html

Karma's a biatch.
