DAMN!!! I was seconds away from making that comment.

How about Billy Squier? I don't think he's doing too much.

MaxxLarge [TotalFark] 2009-03-05 05:42:34 PM
Get out of my dreams, and into my band.

VictoryCabal [TotalFark] 2009-03-05 05:44:41 PM
I'd listen to that.

Ahh Billy, after the Arctic and the Pacific, you're my favorite Ocean...

FA says it's not Chris Cornell, which is a disappointment.

I'm looking forward to this, actually. I wasn't that big a fan of Velvet Revolver with Weiland, but that may change.

I'm pulling for Aretha Muthafarkin' Franklin.

Sooooooo cool

That would be great, especially given that she's slightly less insane than their last two singers.

You bugger. It's been too long, I don't check suspect links before clicking anymore.

I enjoyed VR with Weiland, at least the first album - his voice is amazing. I'd have loved to hear Cornell trying it out (though his register's a bit dodgy... check out him trying to do some Rage stuff on YouTube with Audioslave - WRONG)... be interesting to see who they bring in and how well it works out.

dallylamma 2009-03-05 06:19:26 PM
My vote would be for John Garcia of Kyuss et. al.

I figured it was the most appropriate thread for an oldie.

In truth, it would be all kinds of awesome if it really was him.

You glorious bastard. I clicked and before I even saw anything I knew what it was.

I have it on good authority that it's actually going to be this guy....

www.drivemeinsane.com

...And they're renaming the band "Velvet Fog Revolver".

Wrong_Intentions 2009-03-05 06:26:42 PM
Axl Rose, Axl Rose. C'monnnnnnn, Axl Rose!

NorCalLos 2009-03-05 06:44:02 PM
Unless it's Izzy Stradlin, which it isn't, (yawn).

*golf clap*

Well, except for that whole "dead for a decade" thing.

FYI, at this moment, there are only two google hits for "Velvet Fog Revolver"

Durn. Phrase quotes borked my link. "Velvet Fog Revolver"

As much as I would LOVE for that to happen, I'd heard that they were going with the guy that sang for Space Hog.

/too lazy to google

Didn't stop Scott Weiland.

Is the name going to stay the same or do I have to learn a new band that I bring up when discussing the definition of mediocrity?

Lemmy?

No, I think you're a little late for auditions.

Unless it's Axl Rose I don't care.

How about a chick singer?

Someone along the lines of Joss Stone, or Sass Jordan (older Canadian songstress).

They shoot down the Spacehog rumor in TFA

If it's Axl Rose, I still won't care.

Southern Atheist 2009-03-05 08:27:54 PM
The lead singer of Collective Soul would be a good fit. The CS hits from the mid 90s would keep the crowd entertained in between GNR and the stuff from Contraband.

InferiousX [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-03-05 08:50:33 PM
Hopefully its someone bearable.

Sorry but IMO Scott Weiland is one of the most overrrated musicians related to the grunge/rock scene in the 90s.

Actually, that sounds pretty awesome to me, and I'm too young to remember any of the involved artists' peaks.
