Jindal is the rising star of the GOP? Let's rebuild his little city so he has to thank us during his abortive presidential run....

Lil Bobby Jindal: President Obama has been bad for America!

Reporter: But didn't he fast track the complete rebuilding of La's most important city, New Orleans?

Lil Bobby: YEs, but, and I thank him and...uh...I ...look, I just wet myself, may I be excused?

Reporter: No

george bush is what was taking so long.

Yeah, just because Bush was sitting the the White House for the last couple of years, none of the Democrats in Congress (majorities in the House and Senate) could manage to come up with any sort of legislation to help New Orleans.

And when they passed the Incredibly Huge Stimulus That Ate Washington, they still couldn't put anything useful in there, because Bush was too busy trying to get moved into his new home in Dallas.

And now that someone has pointed out that something needs to be done, I'm sure the Democrats running Congress and sitting in the White House will... pretty much keep not doing much, and still blame it on Bush.

"But didn't he fast track the complete rebuilding of La's most important city, New Orleans?"

"Fast track" would have been something he could have done as a junior Senator. Two years ago. Or that the rest of Congress could have done three and a half years ago.

But after a lot of folks pointed out that the Stimulus didn't do much about New Orleans (while including those all-important tattoo removal funds for California), it's suddenly becoming a priority, before more people notice.

Actually, it was true. The claim that it was false was, well, false. They have video of Jindal actually in New Orleans when he said he was, and multiple eyewitnesses that say he was there and backed up his story.

On the other hand, you have one leftist website that made a false claim (with no research), and much of the Left ate it right up.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I really didn't know who Blanco was, so I suppose I should apologize for my fail, but I'm betting a lot of her friends have made the same mistake at some point.

Then why did Jindal's own people backpedal on the story?

"But now, a Jindal spokeswoman has admitted to Politico that in reality, Jindal overheard Lee talking about the episode to someone else by phone "days later." The spokeswoman said she thought Lee, who died in 2007, was being interviewed about the incident at the time."

Of course, I think Jindal's people have since given a THIRD version of the story, that contradicts the first two versions, so...

New Orleans, like Chicago on the water and corrupt as hell, but with bigger bugs and good food.

"They heard from people who had projects that were approved in writing from the federal government. After the projects were completed, the government changed its mind, and said, 'no, wait, nevermind, we're not going to pay for that after all,'" Jindal said.

He kept the legal entaglements/discussions/replanning going so the country would get to see a big empty hole back in 2004 to remind everyone why they need to vote for Bush. He did such a good job it's only starting to be fixed now. That and some of the families just want a giant statue there or something, not realizing losing acres of lower Manhattan kind of sucks for the people who live/work there now.

I would like a cemetery there considering there are still body parts buried there. I'm sure lots of surviving kin would like to be interred there with their dead.

Not really. The site was completely cored out and all the debris removed. Whatever body parts they didn't find in the rubble would have been completely disintegrated.

Now that he's elected, I call him President B. Hussein Obama all the time. If it disarms radical muslim rhetoric and pisses off right wingers to think about it, all at the same time, then it's a winner.

I doubt it insults Obama- It's his name, after all. With a record to stand on, it ain't gonna be a campaign issue again.

gilgigamesh 2009-03-05 08:25:44 PM
FEMA has also agreed to more funding for repairs at Ben Franklin High School and the St. Bernard Parish water treatment facility. Gov. Jindal said it is a good start, and hopes it a sign of a changing relationship between local and federal government.

I thought accepting federal dollars was the equivalent of dancing with the devil, Bobby.

Which is it?

Well, let me explain why I do it. To this day, people like Rush and Ann Coulter still refer to Obama as Hussein. They do it to dehumanize him to their followers. Just like calling people liberals. It's easier to hate or even kill liberals than it is to hate just plain folk. You can hate Muslims, it's okay.

Obama isn't a Muslim. He is Ann Coulter's brother in Christ and she knows it. And yet she is more than happy to use "B. Hussein Obama" to make him less human in the eyes of her readers.

So, I use B. Piyush Jindal to point out the evil Coulter and Limbaugh use against people of good will. As soon as the "muslim" whispering campaign against Obama stops pouring down from the top of the GOP, I'll stop saying B. Piyush Jindal. I expect I'll be doing this for a long time.

Well look at it this way.

With all the lack of jobs going on, maybe people will start flooding to NO to help rebuild houses.

Maybe? I don't know I'm really talking about of my ass here. But this is a more serious question. WTF are they going to do if they get slammed by another Hurricane in the meantime?
