Next U2 album to be hyped far more than it deserves.

FTA:

Could "meditative," "reflective" and "not indulgent" be code for dub reggae? No clear answers yet folks, but we'll keep you posted.

Dub reggae would pretty much imply that there would be no trace of Bono's vocals, as the whole purpose of dub is making a reduced version of a tune with no vocals. So either the author is making a joke, or he's an idiot. One of the two.

I hope the next U2 album is completely silent.

whaaa! U2 sucks!

my favorite band is some band you've never heard of who TOTALLY KILLED IT at some music festival you'd never go to!!

U2, as a band, sounds great. Bono sounds terrible on the new album. I usually don't feel that way about him. I almost feel bad saying it.

Okay, I didn't submit this link, for anyone whose been in the other discussion thread.

But the problem with the new album, from what I've heard, is the muffled, flat production. The last two albums have been compressed too, but at least there was a sparkle in the sound.

I'm not a fan of U2 but I approve of the concept.

I'm a big U2 fan and yes it is getting hyped WAY to much. I just sit back and enjoy the music and wait for the tours....

I was going to submit the article from the Irish news papers this morning, but Fark rarely puts anything up that I submit.
Here it is if you're interested. (new window)

The new album is a stinker from and from what I've heard of it, I won't be buying. Is this why they are releasing a second so soon?

Reggae would make a decent change, but why not an Irish Music album?
Bono has written, and the lads have played there fair share of didely-i in the past. So why not?
Small venues. Sell half to the rich. Lottery for the rest of us. I'm sure the could work something out for live performances.
