Glenn Beck is a lying, slanderous coont.

In fact, we're so on The Road to Socialism that Barack Obama's budget reads like he went to MapQuest and printed out turn-by-turn directions to get us to socialism as quickly as possible.

Sweet merciful crap, that is the most inane piece of WHARRGARBL I've seen in ages. Hannity would be proud.

/and one cockpunch to asshatmitter for improper use of the HERO tag

I hear pundits lamenting about "socialism" over the government becoming co-owner of failing financial institutions. Well, there's always been socialism in America - tax breaks for companies that export jobs; taxpayer-paid subsidies for greedy oil companies and others; free health care for Congress - but it's always been socialism for the rich. The rest of us get free enterprise.

Good. If he went to Mapquest, the directions are so garbled and off-target that we'll never get there.

/Had he used Google Maps, we'd already have the means of production in the hands of the proletariat.

No. He's a bonafide coont, regardless of what he says about YOUR President. Unless you agree with him that Michael Schaivo is a serial killer, then you're just a coont too.

"We're so on The Road to Socialism that Barack Obama's budget reads like he went to MapQuest and printed out turn-by-turn directions to get us to socialism as quickly as possible"

The budget that was written under the previous administration? You mean that one?

Hey, I think the budget should be vetoed and re-written. But lets put the blame where it's deserved.

You have to hand it to the GOP. They've had socialism for the rich and big business for decades and it's all good. But whenever they use the evil socialism (boo!) to talk about anything that helps the poor or middle class, million of morons, who would likely benefit from it, start waving flags and frothing at the mouth...

As stupid as he was on CNN, I think Glenn Beck was holding himself in check. He was always crazier on the radio and now that he's gotten over to the happy crazy conservative land of Fox News, he's letting all the wharrgarrbl show.

Once again the right wing is trying to shut down debate with scare words. We should be having a rational discussion about plans that could help get us out of this economic mess. Instead it looks like this even in Washington:

"I think we should temporarily nationalize some of the banks."
"Socialism!"
"Umm... that's not an argument. Perhaps we could intelligently discuss the pros and cons of this option."
"Socialism! Socialism!"
/facepalm

Repeat for discussion of tax policy when it involves, say, slowing the flood of money from the rest of the country to the richest 1%.

When Republicans are in charge and do something: "It's patrioric and American"

When Democrats are in charge and do something: "It's Socialism, Communist, and Un-American".

Change the record. Move the cheese.

You know, FDR had already closed all the banks for a week holiday, banned the private ownership of gold, legalized a controlled mind-altering substance (beer, before full repeal of prohibition), and implemented several major federal works projects by this stage (6 weeks) into his presidency. I'm pretty damn sure Obama could move toward socialism much, much faster if he wanted to.

* Obama's budget takes the size of our government to the largest it's been since World War II.
* It's got a $1.4 trillion tax increase in it (and oh yeah-we're in the middle of a recession).
* It doubles the debt in eight years.
* It never balances the budget and proposes that, for the next 10 years, our deficits are at a record high.

Just curious, how many of these arguments could have been used against the Bush administration?
