you probably represent to them everything that's wrong with the music industry

If this is real, it's awesome:

If someone, like, said that, like, 'I would cry if I met them. I really want to meet them,' I would freaking, like, run and, like, give them the biggest hug in the world because that's cool, you know?

But they were like, 'We don't really do that'.

They don't meet one little kid who would cry and make their life? That's the reason you do this! The reason that I'm in the business is because I like making people happy and it's, like, I don't get people like [Radiohead]

She's halfway to being like a nutty "I'm stealing a lighter, hahahahahahaha" mid-20s Britney, and she's hardly 15... I wouldn't want to meet with her either.

Say what you will about Radiohead, they still have a strong stoner fanbase - and Miley Cyrus having any fan base at all, well, not so much...

The snub was inconceivable to Cyrus, who added, "They don't meet one little kid who would cry and make their life? That's the reason you do this! The reason that I'm in the business is because I like making people happy and it's, like, I don't get people like [Radiohead]."

I'd like to meet the musicians who wrote one of my favorite CDs as much as I'd like to meet the engineers who designed my favorite computer or the author of my favorite textbook or the programmer who coded my favorite game.

I think talented musicians like Radiohead should be spending far more of their time making the excellent albums we've all come to love and appreciate.

blah blah blah artistic integrity whatever they should have hung out with her. The pictures would be hilarious and would piss off overly serious Radiohead fans.

Considering Radiohead are British, all they'd have to do is meet Ms. Whats her face in Britain then they wouldn't have to wait till she was 18.

I met Thom York just before The Bends came out. Guy is a complete self-important dick. Great band, but man is he stuck up.

You know. She is quoted as liking Iron Maiden, and now radiohead. When she turns 18 all of Fark should/will like her whether they pretend to or not. It's not her fault she is the "new Britney" and all pretentiousness aside she has a grown up voice. I have a feeling she will turn into a rocker if she had any say in it, and that she wont become a whore

so basically just get over it now

Cyrus told the hosts that her dressing room was only a few doors down from Radiohead's, so she asked to meet the band. "I had already texted all my friends!" she said. Not so fast, Hannah Montana. Radiohead refused to stop by.

Anyone else read this like she tried to summon them to her dressing room? Then pouted like a spoiled little brat when she didn't get the pony she wanted. If they were only a few doors down, and she is SUCH a fan, she should have gotten off her ass and walked over and knocked on the damn door. They still would have said 'no', but I can see them making it an extra big 'NO' with her wanting them to come and see her.

Hell, I'm 24 and just went back to finish my degree, I can't believe how young some of the freshman coeds look to me.

I'm beginning to think, though, that I'm a freak for having taste in women my own age, based on general consensus here. Oh well.

Still giggle at Richard D. James' snuffing of Radiohead when they invited him on tour. They love him, but he said something to the effect of "they're garbage."

Maybe they're still sore?

Dude, I like women of all ages up to around 45 when they all fall downhill. And I think we all know that most 16yo girls are borderline retarded drama-queens. But in my opinion 16/17-25 is the peak of most women's physical beauty, and judging from the picture above she's no exception.. She's no kid, she's farking ripe.

Considering how conscious Radiohead (and probably most of you) are of public identity, and how the media tend to take things out of context and blow them out of proportion, I'm not surprised they'd want no association with the media storm that is Miley Cyrus or Kanye West.

Radiohead have their personal causes, their own lives, and their own idea of how music is supposed to be created. They've been through the industry gambit for nearly 25 years and have just decided that they play by their own rules. If you can't respect that, then tough titty Mr. Kitty.

Kanye and Miley became popular quickly and only recently (2-3 years). They've grown too big, too fast, for their own good. Miley's a little girl - what are Radiohead going to talk to her about? I'm sure they've grown tired of trying to appease fans Just for the sake of it. Their music is impressive enough, be glad they made it (or not, they shouldn't have to care either way.) Honestly, they're probably trying to exercise a little tact along the lines of "If you've got nothing good to say....then say nothing at all".

Not that I've really listened to his music (or Miley's), or followed their careers; I know this: Kanye has been known for making controversial statements ("G.W.B. hates...") and maybe Radiohead or Thom Yorke, don't want to be associated with hotheadedness or teeny pop sensations. Or, they just don't like Kanye's or Miley's music and would rather be off with real musicians or maybe even their families.

\shiat, I just posted on a Miley Cyrus thread, what is wrong with me?

Keep in mind, there's two types of attractions:
1) I'd like to take her out, see if we can make this a long term relationship.
2) I'd like to bend her over the back of the couch for a hour and then send her on her way.

Am I reading this wrong or are you saying that she doesn't have a fanbase?

Because holy hell how astonishingly wrong that is. Sure, she won't have a fanbase 10 years from now, but right now the gal is huge.

Here's probably what really happened:

Miley to Miley manager: you think I could meet them?
Miley manager to Miley: i'll see what i can do
Miley manager to Radiohead manager: you think Miley could come hang out?
Radiohead manager to Miley manager: i don't know man...they're kinda having a weed-fest in there right now...probably not the best place for a kid.
Miley manager to Miley: they're not really into meeting fans, sorry.
