Surgery was promptly cancelled when heart surgeons determined that she didn't even have one.

I guess that's working out well for her.

Sorry I can't work up the sympathy too much. Her "Beautiful Mind" comment is one of the most abhorrent things I've heard a public person say, well, ever. It was sickening and I cannot imagine anyone with half a brain or half a heart saying it.

Another site had the following headline:

Former first lady Bush resting after heart surgery.

Which one, morans?

/facepalm

I have always had a deep desire to slap her hard enough to break her cheekbone.

She's no different than the whore mother of any other crime family.

I wish the best for her.

True. Even worse than when she said of the New Orleans Katrina victims being housed in the Superdome, "They're underprivileged anyway, so this is working out very well for them." Meanwhile, they were starving, had little water, no bathrooms, were sleeping in the seats, and there were dead bodies all around the city.

It really lets you know what kind of a life she comes from.

Have you noticed she hasn't been on camera since her "So it's working out well for them" quip? Her PR team is genius. She's viewed as the benign if shrewd grandma in the fake pearls. The girls she went to college with claimed as a young woman she'd pick a girl a month to shun and generally make life hell for her. She sounds like a grade A biatch.

Being critical of female vice-presidential nominees is clearly out of bounds.

Exactly. She traveled back in time to 1984 to get revenge for the completely unfair criticism of Sarah Palin. The temporal prime directive is just a piece of paper.

It's a response to her arrogance, asshole.

I wouldn't give her, or any of her family a pass because of their age, any more than nazi war criminals were given one.

She's 80? Good. Then she gets to more fully experience what it's like to be kicked when you're down.

I initially liked her, but then she lost her PR people and the real Barbara Bush showed up. After the New Orleans comment, I just can't wish anything good for her. That and the fact that she is responsible for bringing the worst president in US history into the world.

the comments here have warmed my own wounded heart.
I love fark.
you're my kinda people.

the abc and cbs sites that allow comments had WAY too many "I hope she recovers quickly, my prayers are with her"
and then I'd have to leave my black and hate filled comment and stand out and be made to feel like something was wrong with ME because this BIATCH, who's family has caused so much suffering world wide and who's lived a royal, protected life with all the money and power the world has to give, that they stole and murdered for, is getting an operation.
I hope they fark it up and she dies a slow, painful death.

is that wrong?

I don't see anything wrong with that. She would wish the same for all of us. She has spawned the anti-Christ wannabe. She has done her damage in the world. Time for her to retire to her fiery eternity. She can plan the dinner parties for Cheney and her sons once they arrive.

I remember reading "Bush on the Couch", and was shocked to discover that Barbara Bush didn't even have a funeral for her daughter Robin Bush, who died at the age of 3. Instead, they had her buried in New York where she was getting treated for leukemia, and the next day her and George senior went out and played golf. They didn't even have her body transported to Texas where they lived.

When they returned home they informed 7 year-old GW that his sister was dead; he didn't even know she was sick. George Jr. was plagued for years by this senseless approach to his sister's death. One minute she was there, the next she was gone, and his parents treated Robin's death as though it were an unremarkable incident.

THAT is some cold, f*cked up sh*t, right there.

I'm not sure how accurate the bits about golf and treating the death as if it were unremarkable are. They seem a bit dubious, to be frank, even if they're actually in the book. I'm not sure what sources could possibly be found to back that up.

I wholeheartedly believe it's possible - Barbara is one seriously cold-hearted biatch - but those seem like very private and hard-to-verify details.
