And yea, the Lord saith it is good, and his minions sang his praise. And he guideth the people from their own destruction through his angels with GE as his profit. He who doubteth shall be met with scorn that any who do not believe deserve with the mark of whaarrrggarrble. And so it is written, and so it shall be done.

so revenues from carbon output caps are now considered "bailouts" just because a company stands to profit from a cap and trade market? that's a pretty big stretch.

thomps [TotalFark] 2009-03-04 10:03:30 PM
and by "big stretch" i mean it completely erases any meaning for the word "bailout." subby, you are a cockbag.

Carotid: socialism.

taxes is not the same thing as socialism. we really need a better education system in this country...

and just because GE paid attention to which way the wind was blowing and positioned themselves in the market to benefit from it isn't a bad thing. that is the nature of the market, is it not?

You seriously don't see any problem with this? It is not a straw, it's more cronyism. As long as it comes from your guy I guess it is okay then. Carry on, and the minions did say PROFIT! So it is written, so shall it be done. And the Lord looked at them, and sayeth this is awesome! What dopes!

what cronyism? the budget hints that obama will implement a cap and trade system. some parties lobbied for it, some against. ge stands to make money with the system.
how is that anything like getting a no-bid government contract?

There needs to be no bid. They already paid for it. If you are too blind to see what is going on you are a duped dope. Have fun making fun of all the "neo-cons" who got duped while you do the same.

Your pamphlet, I would like to subscribe. The obvious fact is GE didn't have some sort of long an distinguished history of making generators, turbines, powerplants and their various componants and acoutraments which would have explain how they prepositioned themselves in a changing climate. It has to be graft and sweetheart deals. What other explaination is there?

So one company wants to make money off of cleaning the air of toxins. I don't see a problem with this.

There is a fixed amount of credits right? So assuming this is so, only the value can change, and not the amount of emissions itself. So if you want to pollute more than your fair share, then you'll have to pay the piper. I'm ok with this.

Well not the companies that make energy that don't pollute.

They will have no extra costs to "pass on".
