Headline gold.

Dear Rush,

You are an entertainer. He is the farking President of the United States. You can "challenge" all you like, but you are as consequential as a whiny baby brother at the wedding.

Love,

'bub

Why would Obama give credence to a moron like Limbaugh by agreeing to debate him?

Seriously awesome headline.

/I will choose freewill!

This debate won't happen until 2112. I mean, isn't Obama a New World Man?

patrick767: Why would Obama give credence to a moron like Limbaugh by agreeing to debate him?

He wouldn't, and that's why Limbaugh is safe doing stupid stuff like this.

I give 10 to 1 odds that Rush will pull an O'Reilly and claim that Obama is "afraid" to come on the Factor debate him

Senescent Dawn 2009-03-04 05:13:48 PM
It'll never happen. You can't debate with Rush. I've heard reasonable people call in with reasonable complaints. He always turns it around on them. Limbaugh is a master of ignoring what you say and putting words in your mouth.

Lando Lincoln [TotalFark] 2009-03-04 05:14:16 PM
I too challenge Obama - to an arm wrestling contest! If Obama refuses to accept my challenge, then that means that I am stronger than him!

ToxicMunkee [TotalFark] 2009-03-04 05:16:00 PM
Sure! Because Obama has absolutely nothing better to do than debate a radio talk show host.

LarryDan43 2009-03-04 05:16:32 PM
Rush is the host of holy horrors.

'He's hiding under his desk!"

When Obama did the O'Reilly interview, most of the time O'Reilly just tried verbal gymnastics to get Obama to misspeak-and he looked truly disappointed that Obama didn't.
Compared to when O'Reilly interviewed W,he'd ask a question, W would answer (badly in a lot of cases) and O would move on.

Why play in the mud with the likes of Limbaugh? There's no way for Obama to win. Limbaugh's followers wouldn't admit he was wrong if Limbaugh came out and said he was (LIBRUL CONSPIRACY!!! SAVE RUSH!!!).

Drug addicted boy lover vs. Constitutional scholar.

That should be a helluva match-up.

Why wouldn't he? He did name him head of the GOP.

ToxicMunkee: Sure! Because Obama has absolutely nothing better to do than debate a radio talk show host.

If you have time to spare in your busy day to take in a Wizards game you could probably some find some time for a policy debate.

Whatever side you agree with you should love to listen this political boxing match.

Snowflake Tubbybottom: Whatever side you agree with you should love to listen this political boxing match.

I think it would be rather boring, actually.

Obama: Democratic talking points, hope, change, blah blah blah.
Limbaugh: Republican talking points, socialism, communism, blah blah blah.

BobtheFascist 2009-03-04 05:36:50 PM
Best headline for this story all day.

As I stated in an earlier submission... If Rush wants to debate Obama he can throw his name in the hat for 2012. If he wins the Republican nomination he'll get his chance.

Marcus Aurelius [TotalFark] 2009-03-04 05:37:59 PM
That's a headline of the year candidate right there.

Ignore the gasbag. Even mentioning him reduces the White House to pandering.

Time to raise the office back to high standing, and that does not include debates with pompous liars.

That's what happens on his show. What happens in a real debate has been disastrous for old Rush every time he's tried, and that's why you never see him do any real debating.

He's just a pro wrestler that's not able to wear tights.

Which is why there was a WTF moment when Obama mentioned him just a few days after taking office. I mean, you could see how that could unfold into a real mess, and here we are watching it actually occur.

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2009-03-04 05:41:57 PM
Obama should take him up on that, but raise the stakes by making it a TV recording with no prep at the White House.

hubiestubert [TotalFark] 2009-03-04 05:43:37 PM
Glad to see that he respects the office, if not the man...

Chindit [TotalFark] 2009-03-04 05:48:04 PM
and yet, for the 50th time today on fark, wall to wall on MSNBC and Fox, politico, Instapundit, Huffinpuff, everywhere is Rush Limbo. Sure, sure, Obama would beat him like a vietnamese whore but who's winning right now? the President and his gang of cutthroats, Begala and Carvill or Rush?

I say it to you, fellow deltas, it's rush. Love him, hate him, ok, no one that posts on fark actually loves him but someone does, where has he gone OFF the air?

He's winning by whinning.

goldenjetliner [TotalFark] 2009-03-04 05:50:21 PM
Rush is going to give himself an aneurysm if he keeps this up.

/Keep it up, fat man!

With Bill Moyers to moderate? It's on.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs has one answer to this when inevitably asked:

You don't wrestle with a pig. You just end up dirty and the pig likes it.

Personally I'd like to get Rush Limbaugh and Rush the band into an airtight studio along with both of their audiences.

Then I'd crack open the tank of Zyklon B and giggle.

Chindit: I say it to you, fellow deltas, it's rush. Love him, hate him, ok, no one that posts on fark actually loves him but someone does, where has he gone OFF the air?

But what has he accomplished? Giving him some airtime does nothing if he has no ideas and he's got nothing but hate. He's not convincing anyone, and it's obvious there is nothing to him but hate. This is also convincing the couple of moderates in the Senate to want to do walk away from the Republican party with Limbaugh as the leader of the fringe and no moderate voice at all.

That would be cool, but I think a good compromise would be John McLaughlin.

This is awesome. Sure, Rush is experiencing a high point in his career, so good for him and all, but the GOP has got to be pissed off that this pompous windbag has become the face of the party. Several have said as much, only to go crawling back to Boss Limbaugh to grovel before His throne.

Thin is a win-win-lose situation. A win for Rush, a win for the Dems, a big, fat, bouncy, sweaty loss for the GOP. Keep it up, fat man.

/great headline btw.

You bastard-now I have the image of Rush in tights in my head!
I may have to take an icepick to my eardrum to get it out.

Geeez...the only contest Rush could win is one that involves seeing how much General Tso's Chicken one can stuff into their gullet.

Lionel Mandrake: This is a win-win-lose situation. A win for Rush, a win for the Dems, a big, fat, bouncy, sweaty loss for the GOP.

Interesting point.
This is a play to dislodge the reasonable conservatives from the festering turd of fundamentalist hypocrisy that the Republican Party has become.
It's good in the short-term by breaking up the opposition block that can delay Obama's legislative agenda.
It's good in the long-term because this is the perfect time for a reasonable Conservative Party to emerge.
Putting Rush in the limelight is only a win for that bloated retard's ego. Any thinking person, regardless of politics, sees him for the windbag he is.
Go ahead and debate Rush, Mister President (but not on his show). Wipe the effing floor with him.

Actually, a debate between Michael Moore and Rush Limbaugh might be amusing.
