Well when an artist has something important to say it is often controversial and... hahahaha I just can't do it. I just can't do it.

Do they realize that this song was released about 33 years ago? That's a long goddamn time to wait before you start worrying about whether or not a song should be censored.

Jkirby 2009-03-04 07:03:34 PM
It was released in 1976. Is it still played ?.
Glad I live in Tennessee

I never understand the censoring when someone says god-damnit. Its okay to damn it to hell, but heaven forbid that god damns it? It makes no sense to me.

Why do atheists hate Don Henley?

/so confused

They do that here in Mississippi on a few of the stations. Mainly it's so they can be played in more offices and work places without offending as many people.

It's cool with me, that's how they sell alot of ads to churches and what have ya. They stay in business and actually play some good music every now and then.

It's not a big deal, and the paper that's trying to make it a big deal is just stupid. If you don't like it....turn to another station.

You farging sneaky bastage corksoakers.

/Henley? Is your last name an adverb?

A southern man don't need them around anyhow.

They used to do this on AM stations. In the 70s.

That means they'll also have to edit Steppenwolf's "The Pusher", if they're in any way consistent.

You could always tell which radio stations in the 70s had balls by which cuss words they'd let through. Ironically, some would edit "got him by the balls" from Jethro Tull's "Locomotive Breath". Usually a good measure was the "do-goody-goody bullshiat" line in Pink Floyd's "Money". And if they were really adventurous, they'd let through "who the fark are you" by the Who. The Pretenders' "Precious" had both "shiatting bricks" and "fark off", FTW.

Personally, I think they should mind their own business and concentrate on their own music

In 1969 at a station in Savannah, they removed "Christ" from the song "The Ballad Of John And Yoko". BEEP, you know it ain't easy.

I remember going back to my hometown after living in Vegas for 5 years. I had the radio on and it was Nickelback's "Rockstar" playing.

They bleeped out the word drugs. People are oversenstive sissies anymore.

Well, if Alabama hates swearing so much maybe they ought to get together with McKay Hatch and take The Good Book and a Sharpie and sit down a spell. "God", "Jesus!", "Bastard"(IIRC), "Hell", and "Ass" are in there quite a bit.

/Fark yeah I went there!

Heh, that damn Everlast song about the chick going in for an abortion and the kid that gets shot...can't remember the name atm. On New Orleans' main classic rock station, it's censored to hell and back. They censor whore, as well as various gun and drug references.

Talk about closing the barn door after the horses have run...

In college in West Virginia I was taking an arts overview course for an easy A. During the music portion, the prof. played Joplin's "Mercedes Benz." The Christer biatch sitting next to me started mumbling about blasphemy and left. At least she left. Never under estimate the stupidity of the the true believer.

cleveoh 2009-03-05 08:47:22 AM
Would they have a problem with Martin Mull's "Damnit, Jesus Christ I Missed Church Again?"

Adebisi 2009-03-05 01:01:51 PM
Oh alabama, the devil fools with the best laid plan. Swing low Alabama, you got spare change. You got to feel strange and now the moment is all that it meant.

That's nothing. On Pink's song "You and Your Hand," stations around here censor the word suck. As in the phrase, "you suck".

Is everyone listening to/running these stations 9 years old or something?

/Probably why they play Pink
